Post good van halen distortion??
whats a good pedal to replicate van halens "brown" sound?? without blowing my tubes hahah..any recomendations?

Another thing is he doesn't use as much gain as most think. On my Legacy, I set it at around 4 and it sounds great.

buy a GNX 3 or 4 when i comes out and download the patches for his songs...then play it through a clean amp. The ones on the digitech website are EXACT.

Pedal wise... A Marshall Guv'nor doesn't seem to do too badly... :roll:

Get yourself an old marshall plexi or a 5150 :wink:

Here's what i'm using:

Ibanez RG 170, with a DiMarzio Paf Pro in the bridge, through a Marshall MG30DFX, Overdrive channel. Ed just turned ALL the dials to 10, except volume. I do this, but with Bass at about 7-8, and i get killer brown sound.
