Post Racer X live covers
I was was wondering how many of you out there have performed any racer x covers live. If so please say which song and what kind of reaction the song got from the crowd...

My band play a cover of 17th moon (not the hardest Racer X tune but a good opener none the less) and Dead mans shoes....

from what i remember, I've done:

Scarified
Hammer Away
Heart of a Lion
Motor Man
Into the Night
Gone Too Far

at live shows

"Into the Night" was when I was singing for this pseudo thrash band

all the others were with my prog/neoclassical metal band, "Drastic Measures", around 89-90 in the SF Bay Area. The keyboard player did all of the harmony parts.

the reaction was usually really good, since we were targetting that "Technical Metal Fan" crowd anyway. Pretty much everybody knew what we were doing and really dug it. "Scarified" went over especially well.

Great,, a quick reply........wow man you must have a great band behind you, most of the problem with us is that our drummer cant handle any of Scot Travis's awsome drumming....i guess its understandable..lol...

keep the replas coming

"Into the Night" and a bit of Scarified after my drummer's solo. (Only did that once and the other time it was "Mr. Scary)

Fun times.

Give it to me
Into the night

..and we're working on viking kong now.. COOLEST sounding thing ever with the harmony.. Its so fun playing the solos and trading them off..

The only problem is vocals, we've been through 4 vocalist who dont suit us.. Ah well.. I'll keep looking.. Jeffs just too good..

It was rediculous, 1 singer was afwul, he had actaully prepared give it to me, and it was a DISGRACE.. We had to stop half way through! It really was bad, we just had to stop.. It sounded like he was reading the lyrics and making it up.. AND it was MILES too flat..

I felt dirty after that practice, I needed a bath quick.

The problem with pulling a racer x song live is finding other musicians that:

A. Play music other than whats in the current top 10 peice of shit alternative charts
B. Can actually play the parts.
