Post Paul's ADA Flanger pedal mod
Hi,

Recently read an interview with Paul from '92 Guitar Player mag.

It describes how he uses his ADA Flanger pedal to get pitch-shifting effects - you can hear these at the end of some of the licks he plays on Intense Rock I and II where he plays an open string and then you here a whammy type drop, despite him playing a fixed bridge guitar.

The article describes how he had the pedal modded to make this effect more pronounced. Anyone know how it was modified?

Dave

I do the same thing with my POD flanger setting. It really kicks ass. No mod needed.

Good to know someone has tried this already.

I've got the Line6 MOD-Pro and can't quite get it to produce as pronounced an effect as I hear on the IR videos. Despite the fact that the MOD-Pro has a model "based" on the ADA Flanger it doesn't have settings for all the original controls so was wondering how Paul used the original pedal to get the sound.

The geek in me would still like to know the actual mod

I emailed Paul about this a while ago and he reckons that it's just an old ADA flanger with the regeneration knob turned all the way up.

Don't forget that on one of his videos he had a Whammy pedal & not the ADA flanger. As far as the POD flanger setting, I set the "Effect Tweak" knob all the way to the right with a slow speed. Don't forget to use the right flanger. Offhand, I think it's Flanger 1. Oh well. Have fun.
