its not musical, its just general physical strength and stamina, despite saying this I think it is impressive, wasn't he like 16 when he entered the record books?

Anyone know what technique he used to hit 40 notes per second? I doubt it was alternate picking as others have suggested.

When you play that fast it gives a whole different sound, so maybe for expressive purposes.

you cant hear all the notes when he plays that fast. It soudn like hes sliding in between. but uts so fast you really hear several notes at the same time(or so i understand)

I didn't find the marcus paus song sloppy at all, if you want slop and very bad song writing check francesco ferrari. He even makes michael angelo sound like he knows what he is doing.

I didn't hear that song, since I couldn't get to that site. I was talking about what I've heard from his band Mr. Cucumber in the past. Guess I should have said that. :P

I don't know what so many people have aginst Michael Angelo. Ok, he's a bit of a show off and looks pretty retarded when he does that flim-flam trick with his hands up and down the fret board, but he has some great licks. His Speed Kills video is quite good and has some good licks and soloing at a tremendous speed. I reccommend u download the "Fast Guitar" video. The one which uses the F # phyrigian mode and the B Aeolion mode. (6 minutes 53 seconds) He plays a great song here after he talks about playing in modes and scales. Some really nice melodic fills in between as well.
