Gary Moore - This is the guy that made me want to play the guitar. A great guitarist who has influenced so many.

Eric Bell - The first Lizzy guitarist. I loved the early Lizzy stuff, he was only with them for their first few years until he went a bit crazy and decided to leave. He had a really great tone, he used a lot of the old colorsound and copicat stuff.

Jimi Hendrix
David Gilmour
Frank Zappa

in random order

Paul Gilbert-for his tone and picking

Steve Vai- i know alot of people say he isn't that fast...but listen closly and be surprised!

Buckethead-qwerty quirky style. i like it.

Randy Rhodes- the man that made me a metalhead!!!!

A cross between RON THAL and MATHIAS EKLUNDH(for those who don't know Mathias, lets say hes what you'd get if you take Ron Thal, Steve Vai, and yngwie and mix them together. he uses a vibrator to play guitar)

Whoever says that is just plain silly and quite obviously doesn't know what they're talking about.

In no order

Paul Gilbert - You should all know why!
Joe Satriani - The guy's different and great.
Slash - Wrote the second greatest riff of all time as a joke and is as modest as hell!
Kurt Cobain - Not really for his guitar ability as such but for just being a great package.
Eddie Van Halen - But dude we won't rock until we get eddie van halen on guitar
But we need a great video first dude
Oh alright.....
EXCELLENT
(Bill n Ted in case you don't know :D )

Oodles, what riff did Slash write as a joke, and what's the "greatest riff of all time?"

I presume he's talking about the Total Guitar "100 Greatest Riffs" poll, as voted for by the (Total Guitar-reading) public. Apparently Slash wrote the riff to Sweet Child O' Mine when he was just "fucking around". It came first in the poll. If you wanted to know, Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit came second. BAH! I'd rather listen to Jibboom! and rock out!

p.s. There was no Racer X in the list surprisingly.

It was a great riff though!!!
And besides you're right, you'd think that superheroes would have gotten in, that's one of the best opening riffs I've heard. Got a problem with Nirvana I assume....

I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Personally, I think Let The Spirit Fly has the best riff on the album, that's one you can really headbang to! Headbang to Superheroes and your head would probably fall off!
