I listed the people who I've found most influencial to be honest.
I think Nuno is an astounding player... I even started a topic about him once

It's just there are players out there who have had more of an effect on me :)

In no particular order:

Paul Gilbert
Eddie Van Halen
Elliott Easton (The Cars)
Danny Johnson (played w/ Rick Derringer in the 70's, replaced Vai in Alcatrazz -- unbelievable tone and phrasing!)
[aw, crap, this is hard]....ok, Jeff Beck I guess...

My Top Five, in no particular order:

1. Billy Gibbons
2. Barry Levenson
3. Glenn Tipton/K.K. Downing (I lumped them together because they're in the same band and I can't decide which one I like better.)
4. David Gilmour
5. George Lynch

All these guys are lead players. There are some who are better (or more technically proficient, anyway) but these guys are my FAVORITE 5 out af all the guitarists I admire. I.e., these are the guys whose licks, riffs and tones I want to cop the most.

Don't see Paul Gilbert on there? You didn't ask for my Top Ten, did you?

Tough one!
1: Ron Thal (Absolutely dangerous maniac)
2: Allan Holdsworth (Class act)
3: Greg Howe (not much he can't do)
4: Derek Taylor (relatively new Shrapnel guy)
5: Russ Parrish (highly underrated, & Paul's friend)

It's a given to have Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Joe, etc. on the list. I just figured I'd mention the not-so-obvious. Since there are so many good guitarists, the list could change tomorrow. I think I'll be keeping Ron Thal at #1 for a while, though.

I can't believe I forgot Steve Morse (an emotional songwriting genius)
Whoops! That's 6. See why I said this was tough?
