Post comapnies you would endorse.
I'm not sure if this has been done before but it seems like a fun thing to discuss!!

Ok let's say your in a band thats doing really well and some guitar companies come up to you and ask for you to endorse a sig Model, strings etc...

1. What guitar company would you choose!

2. What string company would you choose!

3. This is random like what effects company and shit!!

4. What amps

me:

1. jackson or charvel

2. GHS

3. jim dunlop picks, boss for effects, morley wah's, and duncan pickups!!!
thats right, DUNCANS!!!
::runs and hides behind tree::

4. marshall, for one purpose only(other than tone). i'd have them make an amp that goes to 11!!

HAHAHAHA "But this amp goes to eleven"

Mmm, this is a funny question, knowing that is 99% imposible to become true :o

My answers would be:
1.- Probably Ibanez, if not them, either Fender or Jackson (american Jacksons rule)
2.- Not really sure, probably Ernie Ball or Daddario
3.- Dimarzio pickups, Dunlop wah pedal and boss efects.
4.- Mesa Boogie or Carvin

1. What guitar company would you choose!
Probably Anderson. Maybe Suhr, or Baker (if they were still around). Or a local luthier like Zaganin. From big companies, maybe Jackson or Ernie Ball.

2. What string company would you choose!
Ernie Ball.

3. This is random like what effects company and shit!!
Fulltone or similar 'bootek' company with a good line of effects.

4. What amps
Soldano! There are a lot of good amps out there, Dr. Z, THD, Groove Tubes, CAE/Suhr... depends on what I'm playing too.

Cool thread!

For me it would be:

Ibanez guitars. Period.
Dimarzio pickups, straps and cables.
Marshall amps (there are a lot of cool boutique amps....but nothing rocks like a cranked Marshall  )
I don't use effects...but if needed, I guess Boss pedals would do it!

#1 Epiphone...I would have them make me several Coronets like the one I have now but mix it up with pick ups, trems. etc...I figure if your band was big they would do anything for you! Also I think they make good stuff at a good price.
#2 GHS strings
#3 Rio Grande Pick Ups, Dunlop Picks(Jazz 3) Digitech Effects, George L cables, Dunlop Wahs
#4 Carvin Legacy Amps

Hell, some of the Kramers on musicyo.com are so cheap they're practically free anyway! I think you can buy a bulk of 24 Kramer Focus guitars for about $1700. Not bad. Pick one up - smash it. Pick the other up... smash it.

Basscase, how are the MTDs? Do the Tobias basses (available on MusicYo.com) completely PALE in comparison?

I was interested in gettin a Toby, but I put it off to get a new Fender J-bass.

Ryan,

The MTD basses I have played are just incredible. Even the lower-end ones. The nicest one I have played is the Genesis-- though it's actually a hybrid he desgined with Modulus. Tobias as it exists now (those you would buy on MusicYo) do pale greatly. Michael sold Tobias to Gibson in 1992/93 and the quality of their basses went down hill rapidly and I believe is the same if not worse now. Which is a shame as the nicest bass I have ever played (excluding a ZON Sonus and those are almost orgasmic they play so nicely-- provided the graphite neck dosen't bother you) is a early 90's Killer B. I went in and tried it out and asked the guy to hold it for me and the bastard sold it the next day. I ended up buying one of the Custom Shop Ibanezs instead which I have grown to love but was pissed about it for a while.
