Of course. 8) Even though a lot of his newer CDs are mostly the same, he still rocks.

If it´s only the guitar what counts, then I´m a fan.
If HE counts, then I´m still a fan...but keeping YJM shut!

Yngwie is one of my favorite players. His tone is awesome. especially on the Fire & Ice album. I have 2 YJM series Strats, 1 japanese, one american and they are wonderful. I also have at least 60 cd's of his..alot of live bootleg stuff included. I just saw him in Pisstburgh with the G3 tour and wasn't let down..exept for the fact that he wasn't present for the meet & greet afterwards. But i did get to meet Steve and Joe.. But i did get to meet him briefly on the "war to end all wars" tour in pittsburgh the night before Jorn Lande turned into an asshole

As you probably can tell from my nick, I'm a big Yngwie fan. I have all his albums, and most of his videos.

i have that one too, but i think Paul Gilberts REH tapes are better. They are a bit more practical. Anyone have the Impellitteri one? It's cool too.

I must say, I love him, he's got the right amount of pinash for me on the stage, when i saw g3 in glendale, he rocked, i love satch and via too, but neither of them flung their guitars around their necks and destroyed them like malmsteen did, he is a true showmanship of what rock and metal and rock used to be! Same as the Wylde man!

I just got the Mr. Big tribute cd called "Influences and Connections" and it has a bunch of cool Mr. Big songs being re-done by different people. Malmsteen plays the solo on "Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy". The solo rocks hard but it's not Paul.

Yeah...u can´t quite tell without reading the credits that that´s Yngwie laying down the chops on that one!

Ahhh..
My favorite Yngwie critcism. Why is that only Yngwie gets this? Angus Young has played the same solo for years, Eric Clapton has played the same solo for years. In fact every guitar player I can think of has elements of style that shows up in their playing-- case in point Ronni Letekro of TNT fame does this run in all of their songs. And no one bitches about it.. Yet Yngwie gets slagged for playing the same solo (if you honestly believe its the same solo over and over you really need to get your ears checked.) What are you looking for? For Yngwie to lose his own voice and just get real good at copying others like the millions of souless guitar players in cover bands throughout the world? (and no I don't think all guitar players are soul-less.. but you know the ones I am talking about)

Sure, Yngwie's an asshole. But I'm listening to his music, not inviting him over for dinner or letting him watch my (theoretical) kids.
