Post Michael Lee Firkins - MIA??
Anybody know of his whereabouts nowadays? Last I heard was the "Decomposition" CD a few years ago. I'm really suprised this guy didn't move on to something bigger, as he really stood out from alot of the other Shrapnel heroes of the day. Amazing player, and GREAT songs!!! Info, anyone?

I'm pretty sure he did a lot of the guitar parts on Jason Becker's "Perspective"

I have an old tape of his, and yes...he is quite good. lol Also MIA!

MIA = missing in action (as in 'where is he now?). I saw Govt Mule on Conan last nite, and it made me think about the time that Zakk Wylde filled in with the Allman Bros. I think Firkins would've been amazing in a situation like that.

The case is that many great 80´s guitar players are MIA, and that sucks :x

I don't know if that's true though. I know where ALOT of those 80's guitar heroes are today. Just about the entire Shrapnel clan's where-abouts are known today (Gilbert, Becker, Friemdan, Kotzen, Howe, Tafolla, MacAlpine, Moore, etc...). Whether they are still playing as much may be an issue, but at least you know they're out there. Firkins literally seems to have disappeared. Even the mighty WWW has little to nothing on him. Again, I just think it's strange as I'd picked him as one of the standout "Varney-guys". Maybe he went back to Nebraska? Got a regular job? I dunno.

Talking about MIA's, Is there someone who heard something about Blues Saraceno recently? His site hasn't been updated since 2001
