Post players who had the coolest riffs
I had never really considered taking rhythm guitar so seriously until i found out i sucked at it.So i really want to improve that aspect of my playing.I know paul's riffs are amazing. Some other amzing players with the really cool riffs would be ofcourse Van halen and Reb Beach.I really want to get into playing really catchy riffs 80's hard rock style.Anyone have any players in mind other than the ones mentioned.

EVH and Randy Rhoads are my faves. Jimi with the clean Little Wing-Castles Made of Sand thing is also amazing.

In addition to those already mentioned ...

Tony Iommi is the riff master (although his best shit is 70's not 80's).

For 80's metal, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden top the list.

Also check out Akira Takasaki (Loudness) ... great riffs.

[email protected] no!!! Just high :P

I would put Pablo at the top of the list due to the great diversity throughout his catalog. Racer X and solo he does it all. Also even though I really don't" follow" Van Halen too much Eddie has an amazing ability to make pretty much all his tunes sound like a party. Randy Rhoads is godlike.
Other "80's" rhythm greats in my book:
Zakk Wyld
Slash/Guns n Roses
Yngwie
Steelheart
Ritchie Sambora/ Bon Jovi
Def Leppard
Iron Maiden
Scorpions

Just off the top of my head B.

By the way Bro, I wasn't knocking Eddie. It's just that there's always such a party in my pants. that I just don't have time for a party in my music.
