OK, so they discontinued the triple-shade sunburst...but I ordered one from the custom shop in October, and holy shit...done already!

It RULES. Flat out. I'm playing alot of country and southern rock, and it's essential! What do you guys think...black paisley pick guard, or no?

SHRED!

Not really my thing, but getting a custom guitar is cool anyway!

If you don't mind me asking...did you order it just for the color, or does it have other special features? I imagine it wasn't cheap at all. Did you ever consider modding a standard one?

PS: you should have followed Paul's example buying an old Ibanez copy ;) J/K

Looks good like it is. You don't have an example of one with the black pickguard do you?

It's basically a Danny Gatton setup with a sunburst finish. It's got the Joe Barden pickups and the push/pull treble boost with an active scoop on the midrange on the tone control, as well as a "v" shaped neck-it's not really round, it comes to a V on the back. Grip it and rip it. I was going to have the B-bender put in, but that sucks alot of your tone away to chop out all that wood.

Originally, I wanted a bookmatched maple top, but that would have put the guitar up over five grand, and that ain't kosher-but the sunburst turned out incredible and I love it!

B Bender? whoa! you've really gone country ;). If I'm not mistaken there's a bender that attaches to the body near the lower strap pin without wood removal, in case you're interested.

Do you have to have connections with Fender to order a custom instrument? I KNOW many people have done it but, I dont know HOW.

If bookmatched maple was clocking in close to 5G's, how much was this, if you don't mind me asking?

I can't say because of the channels I went through, but it was more than 2 G's and less than 2251 G's.

:)

Chad and his channels......you have more channels than Direct TV!

Customs are expensive, I know that, and I would have guessed over 2 grand easy.
