Is anybody here into Tosin Abasi or AAL? He plays 8 string guitars and it's sick!

YES!

Absolutely love the guy. Weightless was a great album.

Even did a cover of "david" for my High school's spring concert. Took me a while to get it down, lol!!

Nice! I wish more people on here would check out a lot of these new bands. They have plenty of technical qualities just like Racer X!

Old or new, it doesnt really matter to me, so long as it's complex and sounds good.

Like the Rosenberg Trio.

Not a real fan...

It's too "broken" to me. And I wish Tosin played more slow parts... from videos I've seen, he can't play a slower solo for his life!

I wouldnt say 'David' is slow, but that song is more of a jazz/classical approach.

Its more relaxed than his other works, and is slower paced, so who knows.

Also, Nice to meet you, sir robin.

He does bend and he plays some singing leads occasionally.

Well, he's quite inspired by jazz and some jazz guitar players actually don't bend, at all.

I really like AAL. On first listen I didn't like it so much on album length, but after you got to know the songs, all 3 of their albums are great.

You guys ever heard of CHON? If you like animals as leaders you'll like CHON! The first time I got to see CHON was in february of this year and before they played their set I got to hang out with them for 3 1/2 hours talking about everything as far as guitar playing goes and their history as a band, later it got to the point where one of the guitarists of the band (Mario) wanted to hear me play guitar. So he just hands me his custom Ibanez RG and is very impressed with my original material. That experience already made my night and I didn't even get to see them play yet! Greatest experience ever for me!

Check them out! Erick is on the right, Mario is on the left.
