Post Guitar Neck Crack
I have recently noticed a minor stress crack near the headstock of my RG770.
What can I do to prevent further damage?
How much does it usually cost to get something like this repaired?

I have the same problem on my RG550 since I changed the string´s gauge to 0.10 a lot of years ago. I was my fault cause I hadn´t fit previously the extra spring on the back of the bridge. Maybe there war another reason but that´s the most probable reason in my guitar. It still works OK and I absolutely love it. :)

I'm not crying. I don't have time to spend on that. I've got to keep on trying.

It's not too huge of a deal. You can fix it up by carefully opening the crack and putting some strong wood glue in there, it tends to be strong than the wood itself. Close it up and then let it set. You can check out Rich's guide on for something more detailed. It's not a deep crack so his guide should be fine. I'm sure a reasonable tech wouldn't charge too much for it.

doesn't look scary yet
I think you should just put a small amount of glue on it, or do nothing at all

this shows that Ibanez shouldn't drill these holes into the back of the neck to mount the nut. They could also just glue the locking nut on the neck, without any screws.
