Post Help figuring out a chord
I'm trying to figure out a chord from this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HluNI3f5pw (the dissonant sounding chord played with an obvious aggressive upstroke sound played right at the beginning and throughout the song in the main riff).

Anyone have any idea what it might be?

d-7-
a-5-

I am not good with names but, D7?

Hope this helps...hope it's right!

Well I cant help you here but thanks for introducing me to the kickass song! I would like to know that chord as well. It sounds like some sort of diminished chord to me...

its either

x x 5 5 3 1

or

x x x 0 3 1

the prominant notes are the low G, and the high F

On an unrelated note, this was just uploaded today and most people probably heard it. Some killer PG instrumental for a video game soundtrack: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkclnXsR ... ture=feedu

Amazing!

really cool track!

It's impressive to realize that this instrumental track sounds nothing like an actual song Paul'd write for an album.

Sorry I forgot to address your reply, it still doesn't quite sound right to me. Not to say it's wrong, you're probably right. I can't even really finger the first chord you listed so I don't really know.

FlexableLeftovers has loads of songs I've never heard before!
Including this one... Not sure about the chorus...

This seems to work...

fin. 3 4 2 1
x x 5 5 3 1

Sounds like some sort of diminished G chord to me... I'm very curious what this awesome chord is now! :P

I'd be pretty fucking pissed off if I'd paid our master transcriber money for this... not a good advert...

I suspect it's something along these lines - drop D remember:

I used a frequency analyzer,

the top note is an F and the bottom is a G....

Im sure i'd spot a Csus4 lol

I think you'd better try using your ears rather than a frequency analyzer, because you clearly haven't spotted a Csus4, have you? What sounds right, mine or yours? As I say, not a good advert for you - "most importantly, his work is unbeatably accurate"....

And as for your frequency analyzer, nice idea, but you are clearly doing it wrong - mine doesn't seem to have a problem with it. I think I see Cs....
