They're expensive, but Im wondering how they feel and how they attack. I mainly only use one pick when Im playing a show, so if I can get really good pick like these, it will help my sound... and hopefully I wont lose them :).

I don't know. I saw some picks made from Wolley Mammoth tusks that were like $30 and wondered the same thing.

They may be like Brian May´s picks...
He plays with a coin...
Maybe they "sound" great, but I don´t know if I would pay U$ 30 for a pick...

Woolly Mammoth tusks? They've been extinct for like what, 10,000 years?

Fuck... I want a pick like that. That'd be so metal. If I lost it, I'd die.

Yeah, wooley mammoth tusks. I was amazed when I saw them, but I looked around a bit and found that they are not that hard to find in places like Siberia. I've also seen wolley mammoth nuts (guitar nuts) for sale.

$30 dollars for a pick?

Are you guys HIGH? Look....Only a guitar pick....can be in a box of 100 picks....in one Band room. And over the course of few months...that 100 pick box starts getting smaller......and smaller....slowly disappearing....

But wait....I haven't left this room in months....Should the floor be covered in picks? I mean...I've lost at least 50 over the past few months...I haven't left....they haven't left?...

Or have they?

Do picks have legs?

They must....or else I'd be standing in a pile of 50 lost guitar picks.

That's my story...and I'm sticking to it.

$30 bucks my ass......he'll just leave.

LOL... Him to huh??? Billy Gibbons plays with Quarters... Which I had to try after hearing that but I didn't care for it... Maybe they work better for playing the blues but definitely not for shred...X

If you buy a pick for a quarter you'll treat it like a quarter. If you buy it for $30, you'll treat is as thus.

ryan, wtf do you need a pick for? you don't play guitar, remember?!?! try being more focused on the craft of your instrument than on gear. also, you have to try things for youself to see what works for you.

Plastic picks are better than the rock picks?

Billy Sheehan uses stone picks to play his Baritone guitars.

As for picking on a bass, I use picks on the bass to generate a special crunch sound that I cant get with fingers - I use both fingers and picks in my song.

A $30 pick isnt going to be something Im just gonna buy and try, Ali, you terrorist bastard you. Its gonna be something Im gonna buy and use a lot... I like using picks, specifically 1mm Dunlop Tortex, so I already know I wouldnt have a problem using it.

How bout this amazing concept, Ali:

You let me play how I want and with what I want, and you dont give me corny "newbie" cracks, because if you knew a SINGLE thing about the electric bass, you'd know that they were originally designed with not only fingerstyle in mind, but with picks as well.

blah blah. i never said anything about pick players being inferior to fingerstyle! dont put words in my mouth. as a matter of fact i do play bass too (fingerstyle mind you) and i'll i'm saying is that it is very shallow to say that using a pick gives you extra "crunch." all using a pick does is define your tone a little and let you hear a little pick attack. i think if i showed you 10 different tracks by random artists you would only be able to guess right what style (pick or finger) the bassist was using about 50% of the time.

and btw. i 4mm thick piece of stone will play A LOT differently than a 1mm tortex!

Yeah....but he has played on records that have gone gold...
maybe "money" isn´t a big deal...or, probably, he has and endorsement with some "rock pick co".

YOU already said that.

How about we lay off the attacks ali? YOUR the one putting words in Ryan's mouth, not vise-versa. He was just giving you an opinion, and you BLOW-UP. This isn't third grade bro.
