500 dollar budget maybe a bit more, and I might get for around 350-400.

I always suggest the RG350DY.

But it's more important for you to go try what you like. Who gives a shit about what we think, you know?
Go get a ridiculous loud guitar that makes you wobble when you think about playing it.

I guess the R350DY is that budget guitar for me :P

This....... plus don't rule out looking for a second hand one, at that price you could probably get yourself a 550 if you can deal with a double locking trem....

Also I recommend once you have narrowed your choices to do the closed eye test - close your eyes and get a friend to give you the various guitars (say 3 different for a shortlist) without you knowing and go on feel. You'd be surprised what you like when your visual taste is out of the equation!
