Are you doing bullet holes on rear? Think Halfords do them in the pimp your ford dept!

No. No bullet holes! :(
Just as it appeared in 1987/88, so the extra backplate will not be on there....
This Epi will be circa 1987/88!
Just like the 2007 EVH Frankenstein Replica was a circa 1982!

I needed the Firebird ring for my Ice, the one I had was too short, if you compare my Iceman with Bruce's you can see the ring was huge on Bruce's!

I know, but I don't want to make it a mix between the 80's and the 90's...

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE 80'S BABY!

The only thing I might change will be the PU's and wiring but the rest of the hardware will be like it was in the 80's.

Most of the things on it like the :

Kahler 2300
Kahler Pro Nut [NOS]
Gotoh Tuner [NOS]
X Series Neck
Seymour Duncan Distortion & JB

Are actual items that were made in the late 1980's, the rest of the stuff I had to find that looks like 80's but made today like the SD mini, they are hard to come by and are fuckin' expensive too.

I love how Bruce's Orange Epi had a full Humbucker in the neck position back in 1989! :D

Time for an update!!! :P

So I’ve routed the back plate space and finally fixed the RACER X logo and printed it to scale on an A4 sheet.

I cut up the logo like Paul’s and stuck it down with blutack to get a rough idea how it will look...it looks good, I'm surprised how well the screw holes match up with the letters! :D

I also got some sticker and decal paper so I can print the logo at home.
I heard nothing from Paul so I still don’t know whether it was a sticker or paint or lacquered...I’ll have a good think and try to decide which one will be best suited...

In the meantime here are the pics:

Time for an update!!! :P

I screwed in the strap pins so I can find them later… :? but I'll replace them with DiMarzio ones with a Pink strap!!! 8)

Right now I’m gonna prime it, so I might post some pics today, I’ll see how it goes.

Time for an update!!! :P

Well the primer is on! :D

The finish looks quite smooth most of the scratches are gone...the primer filled them!

I will still need to rub it down to get it super smooth...

Say hello to My Custom Gray Ibanez Epiphone!
