I bought the update as soon as I received the e-mail Sunday morning.

The interface is much improved. Feature-wise, I haven't dug too deep yet but the interface changes alone made the price worth it.

I tried the demo and the new interface looks great, but I have some rendering bugs which make shreddy tabs almost unreadable. The notes are too close and overlap, even while zooming. I'll stick with version 5 until they resolve these issues.

I upraded. For what I do, this is the bomb. (teach guitar to future shredders) GP6 is starting to get into the amp/effect modeling a little more and more. Good stuff!

I always wondered in GP3,4,5 why I had to answer the "do you want to transpose"-question with "no", when that's actually what I was about to do.
my main player is tuned to DGCFAD, so when I want to play along to a file that's notated for a guitar in standart tuning, I have to tune the guitar in gtp two half steps down.
so a song that's usually let's say in e-minor is now (with the same fingerings) in d-minor.
isn't that what you'd call transposing? moving a song from one key to another?
when I select "yes, transpose please" gtp will give me fingerings two frets higher, so the song remains in e-minor, just played on a lower tuned guitar.
this may sound stupid to some, but I never understood it somehow...

did they get it right finally?

That's not really transposing as I see it. While you're still thinking e minor you're really playing in d minor. Are you expecting the notes to actually read in e minor whilr you have the program tuning your guitar down a full step?

sure I do!
an E is an E and a D is a D. that's one advantage of giving notes names instead of doremis... it's unambiguously.

the programm can't say my guitar is tuned to DGCFAD on top of the file and then say lowest string empty would be an E.

so what would you see as transposing?

staying with the example; you meant d-minor, didn't you?
