Hahahaha. Man I can't help but laugh my ass off watching this vid.

Sounds very shitty at times, but at other times it actually sounds really good! I imagine this is how Anton was at this age. I can't believe you guys are surprised. Kids have a far easier time learning and remembering things than us. I'm not shocked one bit. If I ever have kids I would definitely try and encourage them to choose an instrument and start learning this young. If we all would've been playing guitar in our childhood instead of watching stupid fucking tv all the time and playing with toys we'd all be freakin' incredible.

I really hope this kid grows up to actually love playing guitar and this isn't just some forced thing. If his parents just drill him to play guitar all the time he might end up enjoying it just as much as doing math homework.

I finished listening and I have to add.. even though he missed half the notes (or more) he has ALL the timing freakin' dead on. That really is a feat. I bet there's crazy shredders out there who could play faster than Paul but they couldn't get through this song with all the correct timing.

Sounds pretty bad at some parts, sounds pretty good at other parts. It's amazing that someone his age even memorized a song like that.

Wow lotsa potential there. The dad shoulda asked him to play something easier, though. That was horrible IMO, but for a whatever year old that was pretty cool.

And here we go again

Uh, WTF? Dude MINUS THE AGE that was badly played. I was being constructive. I said "but for a whatever year old that was pretty cool" meaning for his age, that was awesome.

This kid doesn't compare whatsoever to the russian kid. The russian kid played whatever Paul Gilbert cover FLAWLESSLY. If I gave the russian kid bad shit BECAUSE he was a KID, THEN you give me your shit. Capisce?

Jesus what is this? I fucking made a thread about how I can't give constructive criticism with female guitar players. I even mentioned kids there. You guys really don't get it do you?

Okay, do you want me to be REALLY constructive in detail? Then here you fucking go:

Negatives:
- His bends are off
- No vibrato
- Picking is inaccurate
- Fast runs don't even get pressed properly

Positives:
- He's young. With what he can do at that age HE HAS A LOT OF POTENTIAL (like what I fucking said in my first reply)
- He can memorize a complex song like this AGAIN, LOTS OF POTENTIAL
- His picking is well-developed for a beginner/for a kid THAT'S HARDER THAN PLAYING BLUESY SHIT
- He picked Paul Gilbert as a starting guitar idol. He'll get technical real quick real soon.

You can't find any form of bashing whatsoever because of his age. The comments related to his age are all POSITIVE.

Do I really have to fucking explain myself? Don't you guys know me well enough?

I think you wrote a good review :)

That was really lame - why make a 4/5/6 year old play a Paul Gilbert song :/

He's probably more interested in humpty dumpty.

He might do, but I'm placing a bet on being influences by 'uber pushy parents'. And by parents, I mean the Dad who is really good at guitar but never got anywhere. That's right, living your dreams through your son is healthy, don't you know!

Though I'd have no way of knowing for sure, that thought crossed my mind.

Still... the guitar, quite literally, is nearly twice his size!

Anything wrong about being influenced by your parents? (Yes in my case lol). I don´t think the boy is being forced to play, so he´s simply following parent´s model according this logical theory.

BTW...

Yeah guys.. don't forget.

:P

The difference here though.. is Paul got bored of lessons when he was a child and quit for years. Finally coming back to guitar with a passion and desire to become.. the last rock and roll star. And now he is Paul Gilbert guitar god... I'm pretty sure if his parents forced him to continue doing the dumb lessons that put him off guitar for years.. we would not be here today.
