Post Cacophony, Racer X, Malmsteen
That sure as hell got all your guys's attention eh?

Well, I cut all my hair off about a week ago and everyone keeps asking me "Do you still like shred and stuff man?". My response is..No. I absolutely hate it. So I decided to make a video that proves once you cut your hair, you cannot play, attempt, like, enjoy, watch, or listen to shred!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_srO7wOeqkw

But really, it's just me noodling around on some Cacophony, Racer X, Malmsteen and I noticed there was a bunch of really good players here so hopefully I can get some constructive criticism from the vid.

Just watched the vid! :D

So....

Theoretically if you shave your head bald, you should sound like frickin' Shawn Lane!

Do it!

I've got the Gillette in my hand man..If that's what it takes..I will make my scalp shine.. Hell, you might even see some skull.

I get that a lot. I recently made a conscience effort to stop my pinky from bending but overall I figured it was best to let my hand be natural, as opposed to having it uncomfortable for me.

If anyone feels the video sucks, please, go ahead, tell me. Tell me how I can improve my playing. I'm all ears and I don't have a Malmsteen (ego).

the playing was great, but the sarcasm was kind of poor and it would have made sence if we were able to see your hair actually.
I say; your hair wasn't short at all at this moment. you recorded it before you got your hair cut.
there's a huge ponytail running down your back. :P

but I like your sound. is it an SL1 you're playing?

Ummm.....

I got nothin'.

Very impressive playing, actually.

The only friendly advice I would have is:
You sound nearly flawless when mimicking other legendary players.
I'd like to hear how you sound when you're playing as..... YOU!

Hahah. I wish! It's a Soloist Pro. Practically a SL1 though, just Jap made.

Perhaps I'll see if I can make a video in the style of me. But in all seriousness, I agree, and it's something I am working on. :)

Thanks. Just the standard Jackson Pro pickup, I can find the exact model for you later. I never use the neck pick up though, my friend accidentally switched the toggle switch up when he was fixing my input jack. So now the toggle switch is backwards.

If you suck that I'm not sure what word I can appropriately use to describe my playing. :P

On another note, I hope the people responsible for the shitty mics built into webcams and the catastrophe that is Youtube audio compression are dragged out into the street and shot for their crimes. I'm seriously sick of hearing that one annoying buzzing sound that all guitar always comes out as after being recorded with a webcam and uploaded to Youtube.

where are the arpeggios from you start off with btw?
sounds kind of pachelbel to me...
you got a tab from this or somehing?

there's nothing wrong with the professional soloists. they are a great bang for the buck. I don't know wether an SL1 would be superior at all...
if it's one of these with the JE1200 midboost your PUs should be two J200s and a J50BC IIRC.
