Post can someone please suggest a low watt amp
As iv posted previously, im looking for something to accompany my 6505 thats low watt. im talking 20 watts or lower. i could really do with a decent dirty tone, and obviously with the lower wattage amps im not expecting miracles in terms of clean headroom... but that said something usable would be great (more useable than the 6505 ..... not that that would be hard)

does anyone have any experience with lower watt amps? i could really do with a hand. thanks

If you dont mind paying, try a Cornford Halequin. REAAAAALLLLY nice amp. http://www.andertons.co.uk/acatalog/info_HARLEQUIN.html

Failing that the Orange Tiny Terror has rave reviews. I tried one a low volume and didnt like it, but its supposed to be cranked so I cant knock it.

I like the tones I can get out of my cornford roadhouse30 at lower volumes.
you can play at really low volumes and it still sounds good.
It has medium gain and won't hurt your bank account (that much).

I would suggest the peavey windsor studio 1x12 combo or the valveking 2x12 combo. windsor studio has more gain than the VK.

No they don't lol, at least the solid states don't. I had one and sold it, the cleans were vile and whilst the distortion was OK, everything sounded the same.

I could have put my honor POS electric guitar through it and it would have sounded exactly the same as my PGM

The sound is so digital its unbelievable, the majority of people I've talked to about this amp cringed at the thought of it.

Tone is opinion though :)

Tone isn't opinion, it's in the hands mate

Spider 2's suck though. Spider 3's are spot on and great for recording. :)

thanks for the replies. I've heard a lot about the tiny terror, although i get the impression that its rather limited in terms of versatility.... i played one at a local guitar shop here in sunny brisbane (aussie) and it gave me a decent sound...... and that decent sound overdriven. has anyone played one of those egnater rebels? wat about the laney low watts? thanks guys and ....., well im assuming there has to be some gals on this forum
