Post PGM301 GH100L Orange PPC212 2X12 PICS (56k Warning)
Well guys, Ive been on a journey to find that Paul Gilbert tone and i think I'm pretty close. First of all i set my sights on a PGM301 which i can not speak highly enough of, it's an absolutely amazing guitar.

After that i played a GH100L through a Laney GS412L cab, i was hugely disappointed with the sound. However at this time i was using a wahburn X50Q and my tone suffered from it. The PGM301 through the Laney cab sounded a lot better but still not my ideal tone.

I canceled my order of the laney cab and ordered an orange 2x12 and I'm so happy, here's my final rig :)

Complete Rig

Effects
I'm disappointed with all of the effects apart from the VOX wah, the Holy Grail just sounds horrible imo and the TS-9 gives me horrid amounts of feedback. Does anyone have any experience with a Fulltone OCD with regards to feedback?

My Laney GH100L Settings

Resonance - On
Presence- 3
Bass- Scooped
Treble- 2/3
Gain- 10
Drive-7/8

All in all I'm happy now, slight downfalls is that the orange amp took a knock in delivery, if you look closely enough you can see, its on the right hand top side.

Thought I'd post a final pic of my beauty :D

Any opinons on the OCD fulltone in comparison to the TS-9? Would like to hear some opinions on feedback at high gain

dude ur rig is sick.
i actually just got my fulltone in the mail 2 days ago. it takes some adjusting. as for feedback, none what so ever. the only problem is, i get a better gain by turning up the volume on the fulltone and the drive down, so when i turn the ocd off, my volume drops.

How do you have your TS9 set? You shouldn't get howling feedback if you have it set right (unless you stand right in front of it & just let it go).

Nice man! 8)

You might wanna invest in an NS-2 or a Decimator or something.

I use the Fulltone OCD with a VC100, wich should be alot of the same thing. I use these settings to get the best overdriven sound ive EVER heard!

AMP:
Gain - 6
Drive - 6
Volume - 8 (with a hotplate ofc. Without, turn the gain up a bit more)
Bass - 4
Middle - 7
Treble - 6
Presence - 10

OCD: (assuming 10 is max)
Volume - 5
Gain - 0 (i use EMG's, so the pedal gives a great gainboost at 0. If i turn it up, i get horrible feedback. With passive pups, experiment ok? ;D)
Tone - 4

I love this setting. It works great for all the racer x stuff.

Nice rig!!

Yeah, reverb only really sounds decent AFTER the amp, coming from the board. or maybe through an effects loop.

That Orange cab looks pretty damn cool though :)

oh and btw, 'scooped' means when you take all of those specific frequencies out (i.e having them set low) then 'cranked' or 'dimed' means when you jack em up on ten.
