Post introduction of myself
Hello,
I have been reading posts from the Racer X board for a while now and decided I would like to participate. There is no other place online that I have found qualified guitar “techno babble”. Also it’s refreshing to hear people into high-gain guitar solos rather than weak radio music.
I’m 22 and have been accused of being a guitar-a-holic because I own 24 guitars (bass’s and pedal steel included) a lot of vintage crap. I am also a big PG fan (since I saw his videos)
I hope this link works it’s a picture of my main guitar an 82 Les Paul Custom

BTW i live in maryland (E-coast USA)

From what I know of Pedal Steel geetars is they are usually fingerpicked and played with a slide. They sit flat (see pic) and are most often used in Country but David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) has done pretty cool thing with em too. The whole pedal thing I'm guessing is to stretch the strings some had a few pedals and some had more. Oh and Welcome to the board myrickenbacker.

Post thanks
hey guys thanks for the replys, sorry the link did not work(i am currently working on a cheesy webpage to showcase some of my gear). yea i own an emmons double neck 8 pedal steel guitar each neck has 10 strings and crakula was right i pedals are for bending the notes. most people play with claws on there fingers(i'm not that great at it, it just looks cool)
i live a few places in maryland mostly southern maryland area (ie charles co.) and annapolis area. also i goto my fathers farm south of salisbury

BTW jason becker is the best (is rather than was, because i understand he still composes music despite his illness)

i got my pedal steel for my future death metal blue grass band (yea right)
i'm also working on recording gear, i have a program sound forge and i'm working on getting reason + i use F loops for my drum machine. i plan on running everything through my power mixer or four track right into the computer.
if anyone has experence on this please HELP!
