I use D'Addarios, they just seem to work really well with my tremolo and sound awesome palm-muted on my PGM-30. And PG's my guitar Idol so I palm mute alot :) What is ya'lls reasons for your strings? I'm willing to try others I just like D'Addarios. peace

I use Daddario strings. If I remember well, I think they are the EXL 42 (the same Santana uses -not a fan of Santana, but I saw he uses this strings on a mag advice).
They are pretty comfortable, and they sound pretty good.
I´m always changing. so probably if you do this poll again in a month, I would probably be using another brand...
Same goes with picks...never have found one that fits 100%....now I´m with Dandrea "Super Sharp" (i think that´s the name), and they´re cool...they have a big end!

Dean Markley all the way!! Only string strong enough for my freakishly hard playing. :D

I think I've tried just about every one on the market and then some... For a LONG time back in the day I used GHS Trems. (don't know if they still make those) and at some point made the switch to Dean Markley's and while I've tried others (Elixir's most recently) I'm still sticking with Dean Markley... IMO, they're "brighter" sounding and last longer...X

I started out using D'Addario XLs. Then I switched to those B-52s (forget what gauge) because the GC here kept running out of the D'Addarios. I've used Ernie Ball Superslinkys for almost a year now. Gotta stick with them, I love their....slinkyness. ;)

Actually I'm using Dean Markley, because of it's good sound and durability, thoughta I like Ernie Ball strings too... they even sound and play better than Dean Markley... in the first 2 weeks of use. Dean Markley can hold about a month with the same tone, and even one month later it will sound pretty decent, that's why I'll stick with them for now. 8)

Hay you panis you forgot "Fender" on the list.

Now I select "Other" and it seems like I use some underground shitty brand?

Well Ill tell ya what essé. Fender [bass] strings is the shit. No shittin...

I use Fender Super Bass .45-.100 and they sound awesome and last for a very long time and have a great amount of attack and punch to them.

Coincidentially, the Fender strings are connected to my Fender Jazz bass :).

*smirk* my Ibanez has really light strings on them. I dont know why I got really light strings... I just did. I think they are GHS Bass Boomers .40-.95. The tone of the bass is kinda murky in the first place, and theres no way to fix it right now (as my tonal knobs are broken), so I try and keep the strings bright. I might put steel-wound strings on the bass instead of nickel-wound. It gives a lot more attack... and I dont normally like that, but on my Ibanez bass, it should fix up the murky tone.

I just got another set of D'Addario XLS's today and popped the high E string twice... it sucked so bad. But now I restringed it and it's all good.

D'Addario EXL120s (.009-.042) on most of my guitars and D'Addario EXL110 (.010-.046) for studio work, as I have an easier time playing 10s... they just rip the ol' callouses when the serious vibrato and bends start kicking in :)

I had to force myself to learn how to vibrato/bend on my friend's .13 guage guitar strings (thats WAY too much if you ask me).

I should also add that I do not like aggressive sounding guitar strings. They're awesome, but when they sound aggressive, in turn, I wanna be aggressive with them. So I pick reaaaaaal hard and I bend real far and Ill be all getting into this wicked solo and rolling on my floor and gettin a big hard-on and then "PLOINK" - the string breaks.

The mood dies down.

I need new guitar strings now.

When I was using EB's they always felt heavier than gauged when compared to GHS Boomers which I also used for a while. My friends used to think I was on crack for saying this, but one of them used a micrometer to measure the thickness of a GHS 009 and a slinky 009. The GHS was spot on but the slinky was .0092 or thereabouts.

EB's sound great for the first few days, which is okay when I'm in the cycle of replacing my strings weekly, but overall I love Blue Steel's because they outlast the EB's for tone.
