Post A couple of free tunes for ya
Hey All,

For those unfamiliar with my music (ie just like 99.99% of the human race), I have a couple of full song downloads available on my site at the moment.

http://chrisbrooks.net/home.html

The songs are KRYPTICA and BLUE SKY ODYSSEY, both from my solo thang "The Master Plan". Enjoy

Chris

PS The links are in the section marked "The Master Plan Anniversary".

I listened to them. Both were cool, but KRYPTICA really rocked. Nice job.

Thanks for checking them out! Those songs are not necessarily my favorite tracks off the CD but together they kind of spell out what to expect. I think my favorite tracks are 'Crack In the Hourglass' and 'Tales From a Distant Sky'.

For gear, I use Ibanez electrics (S Series j custom, RG550 and a JPM100, a Mesa Dual Recto head, Marshall 1960A cab, no effects until mixing.

The Ibanez in the pic on the front page is just a cheapie SA160 I happened to grab from the school I teach at just for the photos. I liked the finish so...

Thanks again!

Thanks man! I'm supposed to do something for Mark's next album too but I don't know when or what style it will be next time.

Mark is an awesome singer but also a fantastic guy to work with.

Chris

I think i'm the only one who can't get a good tone out of a Mesa Dual Recto head..

I've heard them so many times and NEVER heard any good lead tones out of them.. All sounded like nu-metal garbage and fuzzy as shit.

I really wanna play the Tri-Axis though.. Alot of people use the 1960's marshall cabs.. thats the V-30 model or is that the V-25 one?

Mesa has yet to impress me with a good lead tone. hehe I'm on the quest to find that god like lead tone still

Rectos do have a certain tone to them that some like and some don't , but I was happy with the tones I got on the album which for the most part were nice and smooth and 'singing' when I needed it to be.

Hey Chris! I didn't know you posted here, good to see someone from the Petrucci forums. :D

I've heard the short clips of your songs, they definitely kick ass. I'm gonna have to buy your cd. Maybe within a couple days.

The rectos I played sounded NOTHING like your mp3s.

They sounded like a tube amp on volume 1 (you know the peramp fuzzy crap ass no gain sound?)

It was depressing

Thanks SL! If I was the type of person to spam then I would mention that my site has a special deal this month. But I'm not that type of person so you'll have to find out some other way. :D
