I just got my copy of Furious George. I really like it. Nice solos....great covers. George really jams on this CD.

Hi,

Sounds like mixed reviews, I ordered a copy last week and should arrive tomorrow.

The clips I heard on Amazon sounded pretty good, although Ive never even heard of some of the songs. The guitar sound on 'All along the watchtower' was amazing- perhaps not as good as the Shawn Lane version, but it sounded good enough for me to buy the CD on that track alone.

Im getting into GL, having realized that I will never play like Vai (and I dont want to sound like the people who try and fail) im heading down the Nuno/GL/PG road of spiced up pentatonics and tunefull playing. I want to be in a band that plays 'songs' rather than 'tunes' so learning the Lydian mode would probably be a waste of time. Surely better to concentrate on writing lyrics and rhythm parts. Any opinions?

Mark

Do what makes you feel good.
Remember, noone ever won a Grammy based on how fast they can play.

Exactly, do what you feel. Just be genuine with your playing!

I am disappointed that Jeff isn't doing the tour

Former DOKKEN guitarist George Lynch's touring band for his dates in October will reportedly consist of the following:

George Lynch (DOKKEN, LYNCH MOB) - Guitar
Rob DeLuca (SPREAD EAGLE, JOAN JETT, OURS) - Bass
Ronen Barak (BLOCKK 16) - Drums
Andrew Freeman (CHRIS CAFFERY BAND, BLOCKK 16, THIRTY STONES) - Guitar
