Wow. My expectations were completely shattered. As much as I disapproved of the Vibrato album, these songs kicked ass live, despite the funky jazziness. Paul still managed to bring the shred. His primary guitar was the new HSH fireman, but he also used his modified 401 and one of his new Ibanez jazz guitars. The Racer X tunes kicked more ass than usual for his solo shows. Emi's playing was phenomenal, Thomas' drumming was jaw dropping. He was wicked fast and hard hitting. Kelly's bass playing was spot on and brought out the funk in the 'Vibrato' tunes. Overall, I have to say Paul's best and cleanest performance in all the time's I've seen him, despite me having less interest in the actual songs. Anyways, I managed to grab Emi's setlist after the show so here it is!

That's a nice setlist, although I don't know most of the cover tunes.

He played down to mexico the fastest I have ever heard it. I prefer it slower like it was recorded on the album.

The rest of the set he played very well.

Where are the songs someone else in the other thread mentioned, though?

Paris Hilton (..), Mr. Spock, Aligator Farm...?

I saw the video and, despite the sudden changes, I like it; sounds a lot more... progressive.

Wish I could've been there! :x

Where it says "Paul AC" he came out with the jazz guitar and did a strung together solo medley of all those tunes. It all ended with the final chorus of Green Tinted Sixties Mind with the full band.

It didnt sound bad, but im so used to the usual tempo it sounded strange. Ive seen him play it many times live, and probably heard the album version a hundred times. As I was singing along I would get thrown off when certain verses got cut off earlier than expected.

What has he done to that song?
I believe it's challenging for the whole band and super heavy to play, but anyway for me; it's just not enjoyable.
Love that song actually...
Now the parts in between are cool, but everything that sounds like down to mexico in that version just really confuses me.
That kind of trick worked well for to be with you at guitar wars, but he just overdid it this time IMO.

Is the Gilbert-Crowd always that way on concerts btw? It's always been for me at least..
It's more like a clinic or something...

Hey guys!

Is Paul planning to come to Europe this spring?

Z7, the venue where he usually plays in Switzerland, has already announced a concert for march 26!

http://www.z-7.ch/bandinfo.php?bandid=394

Still no tour schedule on Paul's website though.

I hope that turns out to be true, that'd be awesome!

rock n roll!

All the Europe dates are up on his site now. Looks like I'll be heading to Manchester since Ireland has been left out.

I'm definitely going to see the show in Helsinki on April 19th. It's a shame that I won't be hearing too many of my favourite songs (if Paul's setlist in Helsinki is similar to the one in HoB) but it's great to get to see the man live at last.
