Re: Paul's new Fuzz Universe Guitar Pedal
I thought that a distortion pedal would be useless to someone who has a valve amp (yes, I am speaking of Him) I saw the Jemini pedal video from Steve Vai "explaining" it and it was useless to watch, since he played solos in one channel and rhythm on another, instead of playing the same riff clean and then adding the distortion to hear in comparison. And I thought pretty strange using the Jemini distortion over the amp's distortion like Steve spoke. Distortion pedal is supposed to be used over the clean channel, right?

Re: Paul's new Fuzz Universe Guitar Pedal
Well, considering the purest Valve-amps do not have 2 different channels (just like the Vintage Modern does not have two), a distortion pedal (or a booster) makes perfect sense in order to give the tubes even more saturation and gain more compression.

Re: Paul's new Fuzz Universe Guitar Pedal
Exactly! In Paul's case the Vitage Modern gives him a fair amount of Cruch, but to play Long sustained notes, or " shred" guitar for that matter , You'll need a lot more gain! So It boosts and Fattens up the sound. I'll be using it on my Engl Powerball Crunch channel, to have different distortion sounds at my feet. I''ll Still be using the lead channel of the Powerball Too:-) For Sure!

Re: Paul's new Fuzz Universe Guitar Pedal
Power tube distortion...when it comes down to it...really isn't that much distortion.

Re: Paul's new Fuzz Universe Guitar Pedal
I'm really busy at the moment so I haven't had the time yet to make a Demo/video yet.... But I will next week probably:-) I'm really happy with this little box! It sounds really, really good! I also use it over the Crunch channel of my Powerball, and then boost that with the Pedal. Really Cool stuff!

Re: Paul's new Fuzz Universe Guitar Pedal
Some Javascript or something on YouTube is totally broken for my account - I can't comment or reply to people's messages (which really sucks because now they are starting to write me about the tour) and I can't friend all these new great videographers... I reported it to YouTube a couple days ago and there is still no resolution.
So here is my comment...
Impressive! Remy, the way (the settings you used) you played the Olympic riff ... it KILLS. \m/ \m/ It is as expected - tremendously powerful, a stunning underpinning to that song. That is a driving, fist-pumping, amazing shining gem of Paul's. Enjoyed!
The pedal very obviously kicks all sorts of butt! I thought it was the pickups in his red Fireman that were juicing / warming up & fattening his sound, but it's at least partially the pedal... what a whoppa! Great pedal from the sounds of things.
You could think about adding this video to an existing review blog as a guest writer! The intro with showing us all the buttons and settings reminds me strongly of product reviewers.
Very well-done!
