Well I'm just gonna have to download that picture and send it on over to Tony because I see the hotlink prevention kicked in! *terror* Ah well... I was trying to keep everything with it's original artist this time.

Anyway, Lyon footage has surfaced and it's GOOD.
http://www.youtube.com/user/azziz42
http://www.youtube.com/user/jaywodan

I also found a report & pic gallery by my photographer friend Ambra Pisano, regarding the Milan show, but the way I found it was... I saw a blurb regarding a photo gallery, written in Italian that I hadn't seen before, so I clicked. Without looking at the report, I looked at the group of pictures, and thought (of a couple of them) "that looks like Ambra's work, whaddya want to bet that's her watermark at the bottom of those pics"... checked the author and the pics - sure enough! The mark of a true artist. Consistency throughout time. They are incredible (and the review is good). Her pics of Paul from 2010 are remarkably similar to her pics from 2008, which is awesome. Of course, since in 2010 this is a live show and not just a clinic, he's just a little more wound up & on fire:

Just back from the VIP session and show in Lyon yesterday, it was fantastic! Too bad my 25 years of guitar practising disapeared when Paul pointed his finger at me saying "you go first!!" All my chops and skills gone in that second
Anyway, it was great, we all know his instructionnal stuff but when he plays just in front of you, that's really different.
They played lot of stuff during soundcheck, including "Scarified" and Ozzy's "Crazy Train". They only played the intro during the show, because noone of them could remember the lyrics.
The show was awesome, the sound was loud and clear, lights ok… Paul seemed very relax, and in a good moon.
About the band, I'm not really convinced that Tony Spinner is absolutely essential… his sings lovely, but his guitar playing is… not essential. Paul should get Mike Szuter back and go with a three pieces band!! About Craig, well, he seems bored… as often. Jeff rocked as always.
At the end of the show, Paul looked at the set list and said: ok, it's time for the "encore", so now we're supposed to go backstage pretending the show is over, and you guys clap & scream until we're back, blabla… but I don't wanna pretend anything, we won't leave the stage, let's rock n' roll!!!
I also told the others VIPs about the board, most of them didn't know anything about it, maybe some of them will join.
I'll post some pics if they're good enough.

You think Craig looks bored? He rocks out all the time, from the videos I've watched!

I think Paul should at least get Mike as a guitarist, because Craig is obviously a better bass player. Mike's voice matches Paul's when singing harmonies... it's just great.

... of course this is a suggestion that is not considering Bruce as an option!

SWEET pics & review, Chopine Boy!
Dunno what more to say - the pics *and* the review you shared with us are clear, expressive, sharp, and very much appreciated.
[silliness] Paul managed to have the colors match up between the promo photos, the show flyer, his guitar, and wardrobe. [/(!!)]

Here is a mini-review of Paul's show in Barcelona... compiled from Twitter. I sure hope this is not the direction that web writing, and people's attention spans, are heading. Nice to see this *during* the concert though!
(it's in Spanish. You'll live, really! Maybe someone will come along and translate it 'manually' to English.)

C'mon Baby Light My Fire. Sublime.
P Gilbert ya va por los bises. Temazo de Muddy Waters y versionaca de Little Wing de Jimi Hendrix. Disfrutando como bellacos.
Gilbert ha hecho un directazo. Sencillo, ameno y genial.

A few pages ago there was a discussion about PG T-shirts...
Is there any way to get the Telesavalas T-shirt if you are not going or haven’t been to the gig? :?

Difficult to translate due to slang expressions (nothing gay I should say :D ). In three words he says "the show rocks" :D

@Lady Killer: Currently, the only way to get concert merchandise is if you have a friend going to the show, and then you send your friend the money for the item(s) you want in advance, and then your friend will ship you the stuff you ordered.

@FER: LOL.

Edit for Milanese goodies... Here are some band members, gouging their eyes out due to boredom. j/k :). Pics by Alberto Palazzi.

Mr. Big's 'What If...' just went gold in Japan (Billy said), so it seems like they're kinda celebratory. YAY! Paul's friend posted a message from him on his Facebook fan page. It was to the fans in Japan. Of course, no fans from Japan replied (at least by the time I got in on the news... over 60 comments late, LOL!), but plenty of cool people from everywhere else! Then there was a nice 2008/Paris picture posted, which reminded me of the awesome Aeterna pics... and may very well be from them.

2008!

The insane tour of unmatched intensity.

If I hadn't deleted my entire collection of pics last month, right about now I'd be rummaging through them, ready to post up a volley of '08 awesomeness...
I do still have some stashed in Photobucket... maybe I'll go rummaging and revisiting here shortly. In the meantime, while we wait for Madrid's gig to roll on through, if you'd like to revisit, I'm sure there are still some nice photos here:

The pics by Alberto disappeared? Oh well... let's see if these bored band member pics work out. Trying to keep photos in their original upload locations isn't working so well... but it's better then uploading then editing posts a zillion times.

@Lady Killer: Too bad you didn't say anything until the 3rd last show! I have a couple friends going to the Paris show, but I'm not sure if they have PayPal or if they will even merch shop... what are you looking for?

Pics from BCN/Razzmatazz2, teasers, by the same people who did the Twit-review.

Image
I was collecting those + permissions for the Grabbit guys but they gave me a bunk email address, and then didn't bother sending a different one or telling me if I should just post Photobucket links and send those via PM! I'm not going to keep them stashed separately anymore... this thread could use pics... Enjoy!

Image
Image
Paul actually fell asleep several times. Quick little naps! :)
(it's weird how many times they got this...)
The lighting doesn't look that bad/dark in the videos. Musta been the smog machine/'hazer'... closing your eyes keeps them from getting too irritated by the 'smoke'.

Image
Don't worry, he woke up and rocked out!

Here's one new interlude from Lyon worth mentioning (I probably already linked this channel)...
http://www.youtube.com/user/azziz42
It's the 25 second clip. Cool!

Madrid video footage...

FER took some *awesome* pictures in Madrid, but they won't be available until Monday-ish because he is doing the road-warrior thing and travelling to the Logorno show tonight. (at least I think...) Good quality is worth waiting for!

The Madrid show yesterday was really awesome. Had the pleasure to meet FER.
Paul has done a really great show with very good covers and lots of guitar solos. Really nice.

Post your pics and videos please.

Aviso a todos los madrileños: pongan los links de sus fotos y videos como siempre. Mil gracias.

:) Spain / Catalonia is always good for cool little scandals.
Please read the review of the Barcelona show:
http://guitarexperienceradioshow.com/20 ... 15122-010/
(yep, it's in Spanish.)

I went to a show once where the promoter hung curtains that way. Bands, playing simultaneously, were separated by curtains. The bands were not even in separate rooms. This was a LOUD metal fest. It was madness - sheer cacophany. So I think I know what they're talking about...

The good thing is, at Paul's BCN show, there was no other band to compete with his sound or stage time.

The better thing is, it doesn't seem to have hurt the sound at all. There's a clip of Norwegian Cowbell up on this channel:
http://www.youtube.com/user/sonidoelectronicocom
and at least from this cameraperson's vantage point & clip, they sound HUGE!
(Boomy and thick, not vacuous.)

...Neptune got dropped?! Hopefully just for that one gig.
The Yes song is mentioned in the review text but not the "set list"... dunno where the error is.
There is a conflicting story (regarding the set list) here, on this other cool Barcelona show review, again in Spanish:
http://www.ovellanegrarock.com/index.ph ... Itemid=165
Let's wait to see if some BCN-Yes-cover-footage shows up, for the final verdict. :)

@elfranchicano : I will post some of the Madrid pictures as soon as I get them edited. Fer took amazing photos & videos... the 3rd time in 3 years! The 3 pics I saw & worked on already were fantastic. :)

Sevilla's tonight, not Logrono, D'OH!

OK, here are 2 samples/teasers from FER's Madrid set...

Paul, tuning and conversing with the audience

.

Tony's in on the F.U Tour action as well!
Image

The rest are just as good - the quality is superior. :)
Clear, sharp, large, right up close, good color & centering... ya can't ask for more, really...!

*** If the color rendition is weird or they are too bright/washed out, let me know asap before I screw up a bunch of awesome photos with funky editing (my monitor sucks - everything is very dark, and dark green doesn't show at all). I'm being conservative with the edits because of this, but I don't want to even accidentally over-do it.

Laughed my butt off when I saw that pic of Tony - I had picked it to be first to edit simply because it was the brightest shot in the bunch. Hah.

Free Shipping Friday was a complete wash-out. Not a single store I wanted to shop at, had the deal going. I didn't have the deal going because I wasn't aware of this until tonight, so maybe later I'll send some customers shipping refunds as a holiday gift. :)
Less shopping gave me more time to play!

So here is the result of a quick hunt... some nice quality videos.

From Barcelona:
http://www.youtube.com/user/triojoanis
From Sevilla:
http://www.youtube.com/user/pablopcllin

Sala Live! in Madrid has made one improvement since 2008: they installed this huge, stage-spanning background of changing lights... in one of the pictures, it says "Pablo" and in at least one of the others I can see it says "Gilbert". You'll see this as a bunch of orderly spots when the lights are off, but when they are on... the pictures get really "busy". The lights are really bright behind the band. When I get some of those edited I'll post them... it's a neat effect.

On to Logrono...

I think that link has a little original material from Tony, Craig, and Jeff. World class. Worth a watch.

I'd say itss a Hippie, but the logo looks like the Dimarzio one from distance.

Maybe someone who went to the VIP can help you out!

We got Paul's guitar strap figured out - as usual Three D's is dead-on.
I say that "we" got it figured out very loosely... all I was able to tell him was that it was white leather - and then I sent him a pic of the strap with the gold sun logo on it. He did the work! He says it is a DiMarzio Urban Decay in white. Now I get to figure out what kind of grain is on that leather because it doesn't look like cowhide to me... it's very interesting.

Anyway, from FER's Madrid photos, I have about 34 picked out as "extra cool" from about 150 prepared (still have ~100 to go!) - is that enough for you guys? I will put them in a separate gallery post/thread if you'd like!

Here's some more video footage from Sevilla. Check their channels.
http://www.youtube.com/user/doves9
http://www.youtube.com/user/errtachi
http://www.youtube.com/user/andres061
http://www.youtube.com/user/Foelh

I'm sorta bummed out because tonight - Logrono - is the second-last show of the tour. After Paris tomorrow, it's all over. *sigh*
I will move on to my special project which a lot of you guys have asked me to do (finally I have enough compelling & *good quality* material)... and the quiet Holiday time between the shows and NAMM begins.
