Post Paul Gilbert's New CD - Fuzz Universe
Beautiful!

The first thing that came to mind when I read that phrase was an Angora rabbit: soft, cuddly, fuzzy... the second thing was a "dust bunny" aka "pocket lint", and then I realized, it is a reference to a distortion pedal.

\m/ \m/

What does all of this have to do with the Side Projects folder, you may ask?

Here's a really rough GoogleTranslate hint for ya, from our wonderful Japanese friends at WHD.

"Paul Gilbert - Get Out Of My Yard [The 』, [roar!』 Releases third guitar instrumental album to follow."

I guess that means axemaster Paul has released a 3rd guitar instrumental album, and it's formal retail on-sale date is June 23, 2010:

06.23.2010 On Sale / WHD Entertainment / IECP-10225 / 2,625 Yen

There's a DVD for it too.

06.23.2010 On Sale / WHD Entertainment / IEBP-10051 / 3,675 Yen

NO LINK!! AAGH!! I hate it when people post news without links. I'll try to get you guys a link asap. You heard it here first. I haven't blogged it yet. Gimme 10 seconds... ;) I'm OVER 12 hours late in posting this. *sigh*

:)

3rd instrumental album *joy* *joy* *joy*

I feel ... unsure. I'll keep looking...

I can't find a product link on CDJapan. It isn't in the news bulletins on WHD. Paul hasn't posted. It's not on the gossip pages (Facebook & Twitter, LOL, those spots are nuts). It's a nice album title - unfortunately, we have no cover art or even a goofy faux track listing to tempt us (like before the real track listing comes out - think back to GOOMY era here).

We know Paul's up to something musically excellent. Is this partially what he's up to? Could this be the reason for the photo shoot this past Tuesday? We'll see...

The CD is about $27 USD, btw, atm. (trying to use as many abbreviations as possible!) ;) That's very reasonable for an import.

The only thing I can think of is... it's e-mail time. Although Friday nights are iffy.

Maybe Three D's, xjustice09x, or one of the other guys with really good ties to the Japanese market / guys that import a lot of stuff from Japan can help hunt this down too...

The blog post is queued. This whole thread is getting axed if this is some sort of Japanese April Fool's Day prank... You know how different countries have different holiday dates? I'm hoping they don't even have an April Fool's Day. Lest I have to put my dunce hat back on... LOL.

I don't know anything the dino hasn't already posted.

HMV has the CD and DVD listed if anyone wants to pre order it. http://www.hmv.co.jp/en/search/index.asp?keyword=Paul+gilbert&site=

Awesome, thank you SO MUCH for those links, xjustice09x. I knew you'd have the answer.
I'm surprised you or Three D's didn't post first, actually! (you saved Paul from an Urgent Jenn E-Mail. Those tend to be... icky. Good save! :) )

SO HAPPY about this... What a treat. :)

Fuzz Universe. Keep it in mind!

Seriously I didn't know if it was true - the guy I got the scoop from is really good about his news, and isn't known for false alarms, so I was *pretty* sure (like 75%)... now with these links, it is 100%. Partay time.

AWESOME AWESOME..... Kinda figured he would be doing something himself when the VIP lessons included a bach piece he was working....

The big question is is it instrumental, or will he be singing???? Whatever the case I'm pumped... NEW PG MATERIAL!!!!

what kind of pedals are used on FUZZ Universe??????????????????

No really. There just had to be something coming up since he hardly ever takes a long break. Just like last time: Out of nowhere! A new album.

Finally there's a release date. Yeahhh.

We all knew that a new album was about to be released cause it was announced in Pablo's webpage. Finally here it is.

For sure Paul is gonna do some interviews with information related to this new material.
If you find info post it here !

Could that mean a new Paul´s Tour at the end of the year same as whe he released SFBADR?

There are news that makes my day so bad (I´m so simple!) :D

It's been a very interesting night.
Many people are extremely happy about this! :)

Here's the idea:
Now if we could just get about 250 more blogs to post this before June 22... it would be perfect. We have enough time to carry this idea out - *super grateful for that*.
There was a research study done in ~2005 that showed if an album gets 260 different blogs to post about the release before it comes out, the album will sell 6 times better, regardless if it's indie or major.
It would be awesome to help Pablo out that way.
It's not essential. It's already great to just know it will be released, and just to share in that joy.

So, if you're feeling inclined -- if any of you guys know people who have blogs (that haven't put this up yet), have them put something up if they choose? If about 24 people here could each tell 10 unique blog owners, this would be in the bag... and posting 10 comments or sending 10 e-mails is *cake*: it should be super easy to be helpful.

I wonder who played on the album - the "musicians lineup". That ought to be easy knowledge. Cover art takes a while to select, but typing a few names: just a few seconds! :)

FER: Great thought. World Tour!

Yes Jenn, you're right. Spread the word.

FER : of course Paul is planning a tour. He wrote a few weeks ago on his website he was planning the release and 2010 schedule. So yeah it means a tour is in preparation. Read his news and you have the answer

.... YEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHH!!!!
Thanks Paul. That is what we want :D At least what I want...
But we should have taken the hint on his website:
"I am currently planning my recording and touring schedule for 2010, but mostly I am just playing my guitar."
Wonder when the website gets updated...

That is great news. I am really looking forward to this.

I hope he tours Australia with this. After doing his Ibanez clinics here in 2008 he should realise that he can get a pretty decent crowd.
