Post Guitar Edge - April 2010
An interview, featuring Pablo.

http://digital.guitaredge.com/

Look for the April 2010 issue.
These folks always deliver a beautifully laid-out, high quality, very readable magazine. It's free, too. :)

Page 13 is where you'll want to start reading; continue through to page 17.

I found the parts about the Fireman, and the future plans/"what's next for you" most compelling, but other people will have other favorite spots in the interview.

(side note, my computer is about 90% dead, so, I cannot post much if at all until I get a new one. Pardon any typos. I am online, computer shopping right now. Almost lost 40 GB of data this morning.)

Do you think it's this one Paul means?

Essentially, the whole Shrapnel Records thing (and thus Paul's career) is all Gary's "fault"... Varney used to trawl record shops for the latest Moore recordings (bootlegs, I suppose) when he was younger.

yes, I think so.
some of these licks do indeed sound gilbert-style to my ears, so I could imagine that beeing an influence on his playing.

thanks muttley!! :)
I'll give it a try.

I enjoyed that interview. I always like reading Paul's advice for other guitarists.

great stuff

However, I'm wondering how these online versions of mags really work. Do they make profit just with all the ads in the mag?

magazines never really made money off of magazine subscriptions, even before the widespread use of the internet. advertising costs a ton
