Post Some cool PG pics
So i was browsing arround, and found James Chiang's blog and website.

This guy has taken a lot of pics for Paul, and you can find several pics from the SFBADR and United States sessions.

This is the most kickass guitar Paul could ever play live nowadays. But he won't.

James' blog says...

One of the really great privileges of being a photographer is the opportunity to work with some folks in unique situations that would otherwise be difficult to access. I've been doing some work with my friend Paul Gilbert over the years, and even as peers now I've not forgotten that I had plastered his posters on my wall as a young suburban bowl-cut chinese bmx aspiring shredder back in my youth. My first 'real' electric guitar was an iridescent salmon pink ibanez PL2550 that Paul endorsed in his Racer X days before they released his PGM Pro Model. I got it mowing about a hundred lawns and doing that dreaded morning paper route (yeah I know, waaaaaa. But Boston winters. . . you try it.)
Part of me is still that kid, and in disbelief that the poster guy calls me up nowadays to ask what I think about a t-shirt design or layout.

Recently Paul asked me to provide some backdrop images for his forthcoming instructional DVD; they are always hugely popular not only for his incredible and earnest wealth of great licks and natural teaching ability, but also feature his truly offbeat sense of humor and for being a unbelievably kind and sincere guy.

Can't wait to see how it turns out!

Oh, and Paul just sent me that one-of-a-kind triplebucker PGM he's holding in the pic above that we did for his last album.
He knew I had coveted it and one day fedex rang me up and . . .there it was in my hallway! WHAT THE FUDGE!

as for the 3 handed thing, check it out

I've had James's blog & site bookmarked since before NAMM this year... I don't know how he "suddenly" has become noticed - some people were mentioning the site about a month ago too - but finding the site back then was like one of those hidden web treasures.
And now you all see it. :)

edit: someone's got a PM! :)

Please post any pics that are not on his website or blog!

I just love the pics.

I was also so jealous when I first read about that guy getting that PGM! It's a wonderful guitar! I wonder if Paul has already given that iceman/destroyer away....

I'd so buy it!

The owner of the blog doesn't post here. The TripleBucker was given to him.

Post thanks guys
Hi guys,

surprised and flattered to be mentioned on this forum. thanks for all the kind words too! I have loads of pics that you guys might enjoy as I have known Paul for many years and we have collaborated on many fun projects. I also have several guitars that paul was kind enough to give me over the years and I'll post those shortly too, hope they are a kick to look at here!

I'll just check with Paul first if it's cool that I post some older or candid pics here. I'm sure it will be but you know, its just a professional protocol I have to adhere to.

many thanks guys! look forward to keeping in touch.
happy holidays,

James

Welcome to the board James.

There are some cool pictures on your site. I'm sure all the Paul Gilbert fans here would be grateful for any pictures of him you would like to share, I know I would.

Oh man, that is soooo cool!

We'd appreciate if you could share those pics with us, and I myself am pretty curious about the guitars he has given you. For how long have you and Paul been working together?

I was also surprised to see that you have taken pics of Seu Jorge, who's big here in Brazil, but I had no idea would hire an international photographer.

Congrats on you work, James, it really kicks ass.

Post sorry to have been MIA
Hi Folks,

sincere apologies for having been away for quite some time.
i would like to be more active but frankly I am the worst multi-tasker ever and tend to bury myself, always behind on doing the cooler stuff.

Dr Zaius, I was indeed the voice on let the computer decide. horrible drone really, I suppose its ok for a monotone robot voice if nothing else, ha!

sorry to have taken so long to post any images and frankly I still don't know how. i think i need to join an image host to do so.

could I ask, if anybody would be willing to let me email them some images and would post them on my behalf that would probably be more expeditious at the moment.
(cant even get my avatar to work properly, i'm useless)

I did check with Paul and he is enthusiastic about having me post 'new old' images for people to see.

'You can post anything you'd like on the Racer X board. Everyone there will love to see those old photos. Me too!'

Did you guys get a chance to check out Paul's wife Emi's new website? we did the photos for that too. She is really sweet and so talented too!

http://www.emigilbert.com/

In other news I will be in LA this tuesday to work on a new set of images with Paul. very excited about the concept for this new round!

all the best everyone, thank you!

James Chiang

Post ugh
in trying to edit the appearance of my sentence structure of the previous post, I now see that I've posted the same message three times. If someone is able to delete the first two, that would be much appreciated, as I am sure to make it worse at the moment I am not figuring this out very well, sorry!

thanks guys!

James

James, I'd be happy to post some pictures for you here on the Racer X forum.

We've already spoken through e-mail, so if you choose - you can e-mail me photos, or a link to photos, to my 'metaljenn' account, and I can get them hosted & posted asap. It's no problem at all.

If you send a PM to one of the admins - I think TheSurgeon and Ken are the ones with delete powers but I forget! - they can delete your triplicate posts.

Emi's website, and her blog, are both fantastic. Some of her photography is really exquisite - especially the flowers.

That's EXCITING to hear about the new set of images being shot on Tuesday! Can't wait to see whatever finished project(s) you choose!

(no sig. line - the computer was OFF for 3 hours during a storm and during a UPS upgrade... it's been off like twice in the past year - now the hard drive is running super slow because it just booted back up, and I can't be bothered to drag the file of sig. lines out yet. :) )
