(I THINK)

Thanks for the info!

Ah that explains the chorus type effect on Just Take My Heart and Promise Her The Moon on the DVD.

Its a roland guitar synth pickup possibly the GK-3. Hammer_away is correct you can make your guitar sound like different instruments. I have a roland/boss demo disc from a few years ago that had video clips of whatever their latest guitar synth was at the time, you can do some really cool things with it.

Sounds like a pretty damn good piece of kit!
It's a shame it looks so ugly on the guitar though.

Fender sells a roland ready strat with the pickup installed with no black box on the front or side of the guitar. It looks just like a normal strat, except for the thin roland pickup right above the bridge.

It's funny Paul's using one of these! I think they're pretty neat!

And...

I was wondering about his old PGM301/300. I haven't seen it since the Space ship one era...

Also, isn't that the 300 that he used pretty extensively for years?
I hope he hasn't bolted that synth on permanently!! :P

When I saw Mr Big during the " Bump Ahead " Tour in 1993 I think, He was already using that Guitar with the Roland Pick-up!

For Promise Her the Moon & Nothing but Love.

I hope it's not on there permanently too!
And thanks for that info Remyhansen!! I'll have to look for some videos on youtube of the older tours. Can you remember what guitar he had the Roland Pick-up on back then?

Sorry, gone a little off topic....

Yeah, on the old videos of Mr. Big you can see Paul using that sound thingy, although it was installed on a PGM 30 ;)

Sorry, didn't spot this earlier!

"It's For You" Is a Lennon/McCartney song (from the era when they wrote waltzes and George Martin rightly vetoed them) that was covered by Cilla Black.

Mr. Big's version is an almost exact cover of Three Dog Night's version... the solo is different, though! :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCq4zH6ONWU

The "Mars" part is from Gustav Holst's "The Planets".

The bonus demo tracks from the other Mr. Big. albums which are on Spotify are quite interesting.
