Post Drum Question for Jeff Martin
Jeff,
I was wondering if you can take a few moments to speak some Drum Talk with me. I'd like to know your setup(s) in detail. In Paul's 11,000 Notes DVD, you are bashing on a DW/Zildjian setup. (By the way, is that a REMO snare you're playing on?) In the Individually Twisted video, you are playing a Ludwig kit. What is your main setup? How many do you have? Is that still your gear? What are the sizes? What are your mikes? What are your sticks?

I'm a DW/Zildjian man myself. I also have two Ludwig kits. Here are some pics of my tubs. http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/ardge72/lst?.dir=/Ardge%27s+Stuff&.src=ph&.order=&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/bc/ardge72/lst%3f.dir=/Ardge%2527s%2bStuff%26.src=ph%26.view=t

By the way, you can play them anytime. Thanks brother. You fuqin RULE!!! I really mean that. I've been with you since Street Lethal and can't imagine my life without you and the rest of the guys. Please, Please, Please... I beg you.... Please come to Chicago.

Ardge

I'm not Jeff but i'm also a drummer and looking at your pictures have a similar setup as you. I also use DW and Zildjians. I have a collectors maple in specialty lacquer, regal/royal blue fade. 10x9. 12x10 toms, 14x14 floor on legs, 16x16 floor on legs, 22x18 bass drum and 6" edge snare (in natural wood, gold lugs, like yours!). Cymbals are 16 medium, 17medium and 18 thin crashes (all A brilliant finish), 21" Z mega bell ride, 18" Z Custom Swish and 14" K Custom dark hats (may change these, sren't bright enough for rock). I use 5000 series accelorator double pedal and hi-hat. would like to get a rack like yours to get rid of all the stands. Kit sounds great but the high gloss finish means handling is awkward. only had the kit a few months and already got 2 slight marks on inside bass drum hoop from pedals. can email you pics if you'd like to see it.
cheers
Mark

It sounds like you have a KILLER setup Mark. I opted for the square sizes and the intervals in 3rds (xcept for my 2nd floor tom) I'm swatting on a 10x10, 13x13, 16x16, 16x18, and a 20x22 kick. That bass drum is scary!!!! Do you dig your Edge snare? I don't know what I did before it. It is AMAZING!!! Mine is a 6x14 as well.

I'd love to see pics man. Send away.

Yeh arge nice setupp. I especially dig your snare. DW is really coming out with killer snares and drum setups in the past 5 or 6 years. They started to really diversify their kits as opposed to just making massive rock setups. Great drums. I envy you much.

Ardge, Im no drum tech, but is that a giant O-ring I see on top of your snare in picture 2, "Behind Left"? Or is that something that is placed in the middle? Or is that just the natural look of it? It kinda looks akward to me.

Ryan, it is a part of the head. It is a Remo Coated Black Dot. It is basically a look thing. The black dot is placed on the underside of a frosted head instead of on top of a clear one. Kinda cool.
