How many Racer X CDs do you own? (don't count SOD II as a separate CD). If you don't own them all, list the ones you don't have and why you haven't bought them.

For the newbies in the crowd, there are 8 CDs ...

Street Lethal
Second Heat
Extreme Volume I
Extreme Volume II
Technical Difficulties
Superheroes
Snowball of Doom
Getting Heavier/SOD II

I have all but Superheroes. No reason really, other than I'd have to actually order it rather than just buy it. I've heard all the songs and love em, just haven't bought it.

I only have Technical Difficulties and heard a few songs from other albums.

No money is the only reason I can give.

I havent got Second Heat or Getting Heavier. Once im back at work (broken leg) i will order them. All the other albums including Mr Big ones, i have bought from Heavy Metal CD Shops.

SINS:

I was given a Copy on a Tape of Second Heat at school 10 years ago and still have it.

I listened to a Torrent of Getting Heavier when it came out.

Hopefully i wont go to Hell for my two Sins now that i have Confessed

I've got three: Street Lethal, Technical Difficulties, and Superheroes.

I haven't gotten any of the other ones just yet because of what I called my "Music Binge". That's basically where I get absorbed into one or two bands religiously for a period that can last from a few days to however long it feels like, usually a few weeks. When it lasts long enough, I usually end up buying a few CDs of that artist while my interest is still peaking. Racer X just hasnt had a turn in a while.

That, and I don't always have money to spend.

I can honestly tell you that i've bought all commercially available albums in sweden including most of the gilbert ones!

All but...

Street Lethal
Second Heat
Extreme Volume I
Extreme Volume II

I can't get into the early stuff. For one, the mix on the first two are just plain bad. Sounds like Jeff Martin is singing 50 ft away from the microphone. :? I'm not saying it sucks or anything...it's just not for me. Probably never got the two E.V.s because I didn't care for the studio stuff. Plus, I'm just not into the old Shrapnel-shred style of bands.

I love everything from Technical Difficulties to Getting Heavier. The re-united Racer X is more song-oriented, and the songwriting is much better. On top of that, the mix is 1000x better.

Honestly Jeff....I think the mix on EVI and II is better than SOD....mainly because of the drums. Scott had triggers even back then...and his drum sound is top notch.

The first 2...you're right...totally dated.

I'm definitely with you on the drums thing, but I without a doubt prefer Paul's Laney tone to his ADA tone.
