I like Jason and Marty better as a duo, they are so differant in style but they compliment each other so well, its just a really cool mix. On technical ability and crazy live guitar playing, I think bruce and paul kick the shit out of cacophony.. Jason and Marty couldnt pull off that really fast harmony stuff spot on, Marty isn't a really precise technical player, although im sure Jason could have filled either Paul or Bruces shoes..

for originality and innovation i choose marty and jason. they just did more exotic things with the songs, but paul and bruce wrote very engaging material, though i do perceive racer x to have been mostly paul and more into one style.

jason and marty's contrasting styles made cacophony a little more interesting IMO, though i do agree that paul and bruce were altogether a tighter pair live

Totally off subject , but I'd rather hear Mattias Eklundh and Bumblefoot put an album together.
Sounds a lot more tasteful to me

Upon further review with Doc...

Gallahad gets 2 points back...as I move it back to the RX forum.

The 10 point lack of search deduction remains. ;)

Paul & Bruce HANDS DOWN!!!

In fact, can't remember the year but I remember being at the West LA Music Expo, and PG's walking around to different booths (nobody really knew who he was at the time), Marty and Jason were at the Carvin room warming up (although not plugged in) and PG walks in and there was just this look of total intimidation, they even stopped their warm ups until he left...X

I'd say Jason and Marty. They're guitar playing was outside of the norm that was going on. A little more interesting stuff guitar-wise, imo.

Heya first post....

Jason and marty without a doubt, the hirojosha stuff is impressive, and also a 17 year old playing songs like Concerto and speed metal symphony is crazy!

Its alot like Nitro vs.....

Not many people own there albums, except for racer x's as there alot more mainstream then cacophony. People just feel the need to vote anyway even though they dont have an album.

this is the Racer X board, I love Racer X more than cacophony, so, my answer is obvious.

I personally could never listen to Marty and Jason, not my style. Bruce could hold his own with them, but Paul would take them to school, and i would bet they all would agree.

NO CONTEST

Paul and Bruce

ps
i would also love to hear a Mattius and Bumblefoot album
