Post I have a question...
For the X men. I know Jeff Martin was just here, so if he comes back later today, this one's for him:

I MEANT to send this question to Chad (when you did that question volley thing for Racer X before they went recording), but I damn forgot. Alright, where did Racer X get their name? To tell you the truth, everytime I think of Racer X, I think of that masked racer from the Speed Racer show... but can I be properly informed?

We had already started the Street Lethal album......and it really was an album back then. I remember walking back from the store with Paul in Novato, Ca., we were staying with John's Parents while we were recording in Cotati, fifteen miles North of there. While walking Paul brought up the name that he and John had kicked it around some time B4 and being our sound was starting to emerge the name stuck.

Thanks for clearing that up Jeff; I've been asking myself that question since I first came to the RX forums (the pre-original one).

Isn't there a biking magazine named Racer X? I think that I have seen it on the shelves at the News Stand.

Yes..Racer X Illustrated. It's way newer than Racer X, the band.

Jeff didn't say it...but yes..Racer X originated from the Cartoon...but Paul and John thought of using it.

Paul has a full-size Racer X cardboard standing up in his kitchen! And he has a few original Cartoon drawings from the show.

The Racer X cartoon dude would make a cool Racer X album cover! Only problem would be getting the rights to do it.

Hey man!
Speed Racer was the best. That's where I got my name from a decade ago on AOL, which also goes with my need for speedy solos. I have all 52 episodes of the show on video and my kids are loving them just like I used to back in the 70's.
