 Just a thought...
...But would anyone be just as content as I would if instead of new Racer X material, the band decided to re-record Street Lethal, and maybe Second Heat (if Paul decided to do both guitar parts), to the modern recording standards that are the same as Technical Difficulties and Superheroes? Personally, I'd love to see re-recordings of the first two albums with the same sort of sound as the other two albums (maybe even put them in different keys!). Anyways, just wanted to get an opinion on that.

Oh definitely! I love the old 80's metal kinda sound with all the reverb, but I love the mix of superheroes so I'm okay with it! TBH though, I'd be happy for anything RX related to come out

I'd even be happy if the band just got together to play anything every once in a while.

 Re: Just a thought...
I personally don't care for re recordings. A record should capture the band's feel at the time it was recorded, and a re recording would just be a band trying to be like they were 25 years ago.
I'd like to see some remastering, for that matter.

I really wonder though, if the quality of the recordings from back in the day are good enough to produce a modern, clean sound. The main problem I have with early Racer X albums is that although the songs are awesome, and the playing fantastic, everything's reallly mushy. If a remaster can fix that, and make Second Heat sound as clear and audible as Superheroes, then yeah, great. But if it can't, then I don't see a reason against re-recording stuff. Even if that means slightly less terrifying shred, because I know that this eventually would be the result, since Paul's playing has evolved a bit.

I'd like to see some remastering, for that matter. That makes sense, but I wouldn't call their re-recording of a record their trying to be like they were 25 years ago. I think it's more like "Hey, here's all the experience we've built up over the past 25 years and now we're gonna take all the classic songs and give them a different edge." For me, classic songs with a different edge are so fresh and exciting so.

We'd probably get a whole album full of 'improved' and 'dynamic' versions http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_SUB18g1wU There's nothing that gives a heavy metal song that extra push like a good dance beat.

Ew. At the end there, there was actually a little distortion (video).

No. New material > re recorded material. If it's rerecorded, it should be a live recording like snowball of doom.

 Re: Just a thought...
I'd be interested in some re-recordings, the first two albums are an absolute mess in terms of tone, production and mixing

 Re: Just a thought...
They have not been remastered.
I asked Mike Varney last year....and he said...so all 3 people could buy it?
I don't think he or many understand how popular Racer X is now...Worldwide. They have more fans now, through YouTube and such...than they did in 1987.
