Awesome! Now anyone who says there's no Racer X without Paul can put a foot in his mouth...

wait a second... now that Sir Robin mentioned it, I'm a little confused.

Quote:
"their last gasp came with 2 nights of back to back live shows at the country club, which would be released as live extreme volume i. the album included many racer x classics as well as solos from paul, bruce, john, and scott. also on the album were several new songs which had been originally intended for a third studio recording, including "she wants control", "set the world on fire", and the instrumental "scit scat wah." but even as that album was getting ready for release, the dismantling of the band was near. many musicians were common sights at racer x shows, including david lee roth, steve vai, and billy sheehan. billy would eventually approach paul about creating a new band, and paul seeing that racer x was not going to get signed was intrigued. by the release of live extreme volume i, paul had already checked out mentally from racer x during the last few shows. the rest of the band, was searching for a reason for the lack of major label interest, focused their frustration on martin. but it was too late, paul had already formed mr. big and the 2 left racer x on the same day.

alderete, bouillet and travis tried to carry on as racer x briefly by bringing in guitar spotlight player chris arvan and performed a couple shows, one with oni logan fro.m lynch mob. but it was really just a last gasp. racer x was done, but these guys were too good of musicians to disappear. "

so... I assume after Paul left, Jeff did one last show with the guys?

Yeah, I think I've read two different stories. One where Paul is the first one to quit, then Jeff; the other one being the inverse. I don't know, I could be wrong.

Well then I think there needs to be some investigating done if there is a CONTRADICTION BETWEEN APPARENT EVIDENCE AND SO CALLED FACTS.

Let's all get our formal-wear on. It's time to get to the bottom of this.

Not that any of this should matter anymore, since it's been so many years after the fact. But as Bruce explained it to me:

After the news was broke to Jeff (nobody wanted it to happen, but it was the same general complaint from label interest), Paul said he was leaving as well (it was already decided), and Bruce described the general reaction as shocked.

It's all water far far passed under the bridge by now.

So even back then Racer X was under-rated. Gathered from all the comments of the stagnant crowds of MI students not making a ruckus like a real crowd should

Ha, just watched that video clip. Somebody inserted one of my photos at the end of it. I'll be damned.

I have one of the original copies of that show, and I had long forgotten that my girlfriend can be seen at stage in front of Bruce.

My favorite memory of Bruce that night was how he ripped on Motorman. I love his version of the solo.
