I've seen Racer X referred to as "speed" metal many times (presumably because of the speed at which the solos are played). Obviously, this leads to some confusion as thrash metal is/was also sometimes referred to as speed metal.

Yeah.

Some people say Megadeth is speed metal. Some people say it's thrash. Some people just say it's metal.

Well, I'm not counting "risk". All people call that shit.

I don't even bother labeling music anymore, but mostly I know which music belongs to the different genres. However, RX is like early 90's Priest, because of the drums, but the guitars are like a cross between Priest and Yngwie. I reckon. But hell, what do I know. :lol:
