Post The missing Racer X songs
Hey there.

After seing the Eat My Money video once again, I tried to recall the Racer X songs that were not recorded in studio, and I could only think of three:

Eat My Money, which made it to Jeff's solo album.

Scit Scat Wha, which was only recorded live.

She's a Robot, which appeared as a bonus track after Godzilla on the Snowball of Doom CD.

Any other songs?

What about that other one off of XTREME LIVE. She Wants Control.

Was that ever recorded in studio?

True. Although I'm not sure if that track is an original tune or not.

Eat My Money is so fucking awesome. I don't know why that didn't make it to Getting Heavier. Would've been kick-ass.

Yeah it is. I thought that Jeff wrote it for his solo career though, guess I'm just wrong

"She Wants Control" is an original RX tune that never made it onto studio vinyl, tape or plastic...

My personal favorite was "Set the World on Fire." What a rockin' tune.

I'd like to hear studio versions of She Wants Control and Skit Skat Wah... These songs just ruled, the versions captured on the Live Extreme Volume are so awesome I'd wish the studio versions were identical, without all the crowd screams, and (very very) occasionnal mistakes the band made live.

The only things that could be improved in the studio version would be the quality of the recording, and perhaps less improvised solos?... The solos captured live rule because of their agressivity, but I prefer more melodic solos like the ones on Technical Difficulties or Snakebite...

i do NOT want to hear studio versions of either.. unless they were recorded in '88.

(i'm just bitter because the album version of poison eyes is garbage compared to the live one)

I respectfully disagree! :P

The good thing I see about Racer X still having these old tracks that weren't recorded in studio, is that if they ever take the chance to do it, a possible new album could sound more like TD or Superheroes, which imo are much much better than Getting Heavier.

Meh. I hated the live version. The recorded version was a lot better IMO.

The studio version would have needed the tempo of the live version in my opinion.

+1!
Big time!

I've always wanted to do a good cover of that song.
I sure as hell can't sing like that, though.

Maybe they would be awesome "bonus tracks" for the remastered versions that were once talked in this forum.

Any new stuff of the band (being old songs never recorded in studio or new songs) will be warmly welcomed.

You're crazy! Did you hear Scit Scat Wah and Scarified when Bruce and Paul played G3?? I thought they sounded MUCH better and cleaner than the originals.

Acid I hear you exactly. Have you heard Bruce's solos in the live Scit Scat Wah recordings at G3?

Personally if Paul does man up to reunite Racer X I think it would be great to have recorded versions of Scit Scat Wah, Set The World On Fire, and She Wants Control. And if She's A Robot wasn't just some kind of joke song then maybe a complete version because it sounded pretty rockin'. 8)

Oh yeah and Eat My Money rocks too! I think Ken hinted in another thread that another song on Jeff's solo album was also a rejected Racer X song. And I also think he said both versions were different from the would be Racer X tunes. Use the search button!

Come on. Scit Scat was already perfect live. So why record it in studio. Don't you want new songs?

I think the live RX version of SSW is better than the one from the G3, because there's a John's solo and a little Scott's solo.

I also agree that the solos from the G3 version are better; so why not get together and keep the original structure and play better solos? :P
