Post Todd DeVito
I've read that Todd DeVito briefly played drums for Racer X between Harry and Scott. I've read that he was in Black Sheep, which Paul was in before Racer X.

Anyone on here know if Paul Gilbert and Todd DeVito were ever in Black Sheep at the same time?

I do not know about Vito and Paul in Black Sheep.

I believe Todd..aka Vito DeVito played 1 Racer X gig...that Scott attended...which eventually led to his addition to the band.

Most don't know, but Scott was an early choice...before Harry for Racer X, but he was in a paying band, Hawk with Doug Marks...and Racer X was not paid...so he passed the first time around.

Lonnie Miller/Vincent was also in King Kobra. So were Marq Torien and Mick Sweda.

Todd and Paul were in Black Sheep @ the same time. Todd was Black Sheep's drummer from 1984-1990, except for a brief period in 1987.

Obviously, then, that was why Todd was recruited into Racer X.

It's been a while since I've read the e-mail. Several years ago, the Racer X forum-goers were given a chance to ask Racer X questions about the band. I jumped at the opportunity and asked about the band's formation. Paul Gilbert said that, before finding Harry Gschoesser, he auditioned one of John Alderete's friends/acquaintances. This person didn't actually make the final cut, but did come up with the name for the band. Pretty interesting tidbit.

I found something potentially Racer X-related on FaceBook, though.

Is that the Harry Gschoesser? Looks fairly similar to the man in this video.

Hey Ryan..yeah, that's Harry. I've spoken to him a couple times in the past year about doing some work together. He's super cool and still loves his Racer X heritage!

...That drummer's name was Bill Lescohier, according to Greg Vorobiov. Bill is the one who didn't make the final cut - Harry was selected instead.

Ryan - many thanks for Harry's Facebook page link! What fascinating turns his life has taken.
