Post Brütal Legend's complete soundtrack leaked... and... OH SNAP
First, an explanation...

g0g0, WIKIPEDIA!
Quote:
Brütal Legend is an action-adventure game under development by Double Fine Productions and to be published by Electronic Arts for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game is scheduled to be released in October 2009 in both North America and Europe. Though Brütal Legend was originally to be published by Vivendi Games prior to its merger with Activision, Activision had dropped the game from its portfolio after the merger. It was later picked up by Electronic Arts, though Activision and Double Fine brought counter-lawsuits against each other over publishing issues, but which have since been settled out of court.

Tim Schafer, the game's creative director, was inspired to create the game by his own past musical experiences. The game will feature the character of Eddie Riggs, voiced by Jack Black, a roadie who is accidentally transported to a fantasy world inspired by the artwork of heavy metal album covers. Eddie becomes the world's savior, leading the down-trodden humans against a range of supernatural overlords using a battle axe, his Flying V guitar infused with magical powers, and a customizable hot rod. In addition to Black, the game will feature voices of heavy metal musicians including Lemmy Kilmister, Rob Halford, Ozzy Osbourne and Lita Ford and other celebrities such as Tim Curry, as well as several metal songs selected by Schafer for inclusion in the game.

Anywho... the trackilist of the game got "leaked" via the Denmark part of EA, the company who's publishing the game.

That would be awesome! It's a shame that Brütal Legend will only be coming out on the PS3 and the 360 otherwise i'd get it for sure.

No ACDC, Dio, Van Halen, Iron Maiden, Guns n roses or Yngwie Malmsteen either... but I guess you can't really complain, their list is pretty complete and contains Racer X which is great.

I think you can put those two instrumentals in the background music of any action game and it will be amazing

Now I hope even more that there will be a PC version

Says the guy who's member name is a famous Metallica album. :?

BTW, I'll have Metallica over Megadeth any day of the week, but that's just me. Let's not start a Metallica > or < Megadeth debate, we'll only lock the thread.

Here's the tracklist being announced by Double Fine's musical director (i didn't catch her name...hot accent, though) and Tim Schafer solving a Rubick's cube for some reason while she announces the tracklist itself:

Just thought i'd share this with you guys and also with those of you who wanted a visual and audible confirmation.

Chavelo: Great spotting!

Thanks to Simon & Chavelo, who posted links to official sources for legitimate confirmation of this. It was really tough to sit on my hands for a few days and not blog about it. That's now been remedied (I put up a post).

Random thoughts:

Some artists aren't in the game probably because of their record label, the licensing terms, and/or payments. It probably has very little to do with the game developers forgetting bands / oversight.

And... "Megadeath"? LOL... that tracklister needs to check their spelling. Back when Peace Sells... came out, we were making jokes about Megadeath vs. Megadeth!

Hopefully this game will do very well for these bands & artists.
