Paul's Ampeg V-4 and Lee Jackson Bassman
Hi I'm new here. When I was in vegas on vacation I visited Cowtown guitars and spotted an ampeg V-4 labeled "Paul #2" on the front. Being a big racer x fan and knowing Paul used one with his ada mp-1 I asked the guy at the desk about it who told me it was Paul's and that it came in with about 100 pieces of different equipment (including 40 guitars and whole crates of pedals) that Paul had sold to them, having lived in the area at one point. He also said that the old lee jackson modded fender bassman they had used to be Paul's too. I think that those were the only two pieces of gear from Paul they still had left. They said almost everything, even the pedals, had been modded and that they had no idea what half of the knobs on the modded bassman did.
Here's the V-4-
The "Paul" sticker-
I didn't get a picture of the back of the V-4, but it had jacks with "preamp in" labeled above them.
The lee jackson bassman-
The back of the bassman-
The "Paul Gilbert" label on the back of the bassman-
The tag on the bassman-
I got to play through the bassman (I didn't know what half the knobs did but I was able to figure out a few) and the tone was great, very similar to my metaltronix M-1000.
Hope the pictures turn out alright I'm new to this. You can click on the thumbnails to make them bigger.
