Mine does. I think all Shrapnel copies do. I belive that Japanese copies may not have that.

But totally ontopic, I don`t know what you mean by "how live"

when theres spikes of volume that hit a limit and distort. Its really annoying, i never listen to EL1 because of it.

im guessing he means how much overdubs there are. All really know is the the teeth solo paul said he had to redo in the studio.

That's right.

I only ask since some were complaining about SOD2 being a soundboard recording (mistakes left in). Also, the crowd sounds rather, er, epic.

It kind of makes you question how many other great live CDs are really 'live'. Muse's Hulaballoo is a great live album / dvd, for example, but now I question how live parts of it are.

Paul said he re recorded a part of the solo because of too much string noise occured when he was playing it live, and he didn't like it, but he said he recorded that part of the solo with his teeth in the studio too

Most live albums are touched up at least a bit - most would rather listen to tracks played well than truly live ones complete with flaws. You can always get bootlegs if your after that raw sound.

In the words of Evil Joe...

This has been talked about a million mutha fuckin' times before.

The crowd....is mic'd...whereas in the SOD2...it's not. So that would make substantial difference.

Most live albums are fixed.....Song Remains the Same has NO live vocals on it.....

KISS Alive..."Live" qualities have been questioned for years.

I know Scott's drums were triggered on EV1...so they're going to sound good....He complains that SOD the drums weren't triggered, and why he hates the drum sound on that recording. SOD has a TON of vocal fixes...because of the vaunted Britney mic...but you all knew that.

I would say vocals get fixed most often on live recordings for the obvious reasons.....inconsistent volume (moving in and away from mic), vocal pitch issues, vocal cut outs from too many live shows....

On the BBC series "Classic Albums" they answered every question about KISS "Alive" album & played some of the raw, unaltered bits. Very dodgy indeed. KISS would have been dropped if they hadn't fixed that album.
