Post Opening lick Viking Kong / The Ventures?
I heard this tune Diamond Head by The Ventures at work
today, and I thought wtf, that's the opening lick from Viking Kong...LOL

Perhaps Paul was inspired by that lick when he wrote Viking Kong?

(starts at approx. 0.13)

I thought it was pretty cool...

I used the search button and found nothing, sorry if this has been up before...

the ventures are awesome, I love surfrock, Dick Dale is awesome as well

waa! That score - haircream commercial

On topic: That is just the usual strum a chord and then play some other notes of the scale with your pinky kind of thing, it's part of the guitar 101.
I'm sure there are a lot more songs with a similar lick

besides, there was a video with Paul talking about his warmup routine and it showed that viking kong started as a warmup exercise

Weak? That tone is tasty, but the mics/transmission of the show makes it sound horrible!

I thought "Viking Kong" resembled "Rock Bottom" by KISS. Interesting find.
