just to clarify things;

-I didn't create this thread to bash him.
-He's great.
-I just said his playing sounded a little "non confident"

please don't get me wrong :mrgreen:

Is anton picking every note in the GOOMY cover? It doesn't look like he's picking every single note.

no, its economy.

:? I always thought the standard definition of economy picking was that every note was indeed picked, just in the most efficient direction possible?

Or do you mean that only the first note on each string was picked, ßrono? I'd still call that a legato approach.

Yeah, i was wrong. I just never was botherd to fix that. it is legato.

its like this to be more exact:

its this pattern, i dont remember the key tho.

down stroke on 14, pull off then up stroke on 12. Thern repeat in lower octaves.
e-----14-------10----------------
b-----------------------12--------

edit* it works well with economy too, its actually pretty cool.

The kid is shit hot, i wonder what Paul was like when he was 11? probably doing copies of Judas Priest, Max Webster etc etc, i struggle to imitate other peoples songs, but do to a point have my own style, but it is not technically astounding, but just is the way i play it, i will always go by the rule that if it sounds good it is good, i do not believe it is possible to come up with a new individual style the only true difference is that you are you, as i have said before Frank Gambale said to me guitar playing is not a competition, it is a n art form so noone can judge it really.We all love Gilbert, Malmsteen, Govan, Holdsworth etc etc, but to be honest if Paul played in my local pub everyone would think it was crap, wheras the asian guy who sings like Bob Dylan and plays acoustic they all love, i have yet to mention any of my favourite guitarists at work and anyone know who they are which is a shame, just aim to be the best player that you can be, which unfortunately for me is not going to be good, but i have set my standards too high
