This show looks like it was "insane" in the energy dept. :)

No offense, but do you have nothing better to do with your time?

The silly answer: no, of course not.
The truth:
All I am doing until we get the door fixed is sitting here on my butt like a mall cop.
Besides doing nothing with my time, I'm working, talking to my customers, packing up today's orders and shipping them, and editing some cool photos.
I only visit this board on breaks.
It may *seem* one-sided or one-dimensional, but this board isn't a "let's discuss our entire lives and bore eachother with nose-picking stories" board, it's an on-topic board dedicated to one band... I'm just trying to stay on topic.

Show Review from someone not on the board!
(is that a "more legit" type of review or a "less legit" type of review?)
I corrected a typo and removed a duplication.

** Freddie Nelson's songs with Paul were not off an upcoming album, so, I would be inclined to say FACT CHECK when you guys read the thing about all the PGM's coming out. Although this is the second time I have heard that all the PGM's are coming out.
So, I think it might be true, but the thing about United States being an upcoming album... incorrect, unless they are referring to the upcoming USA release date which is Apr. 28.

Review:

Ibanez and Paul Gilbert Team Up for 20th Anniversary Concert

To celebrate 20 years of Paul Gilbert Signature Models, Ibanez is reissuing all of the PGM guitars from the past two decades and they threw a star-studded bash Saturday night at NAMM to commemorate the event.

Ibanez is letting fans vote on which models get reissued first at ibanez.com.

Mike Varney, who launched Gilbert's career by featuring him in GP's Spotlight column back in the 80s, gave the invocation, introducing Gilbert's solo band. They took the stage and treated the crowd to a dazzling combination of technical ability and pop sensibilities. Fellow Ibanez endorsee Andy Timmons joined Gilbert for a rocking version of Pat Travers' cover of "Statesboro Blues." Gilbert also played a few tunes off an upcoming album with new singer Freddie Nelson.

Gilbert's terrifying shred band Racer X took the stage next, wowing listeners with mind-blowing solos and impossible riffs.

On hand to honor Gilbert were his Mr. Big bandmates Eric Martin and Billy Sheehan, Herman Li from Dragonforce, Uriah Duffy of Whitesnake, as well as Larry DiMarzio and Steve Blucher who have been making pickups for Gilbert his entire career.

Whaddya think? :)

Guys, I hate to point out the obvious, but...

1) I didn't write that review *and it says so*
and
2) I didn't go to this show (although I did threaten to pull out all my hair because I missed it.)

Please complain to Guitar Player about the content of their review; I have linked the source in the post!

Paul seems to be in constant motion onstage. You can see how after a few hours of this, it's got to be exhausting. The amount of energy given to the audience looks tremendous... even from a low-key show.

I agree its really exhausting to play live and PG played TWO sets... and you kinda run out of moves! but he always had the good old he had back in the 80s where he ran from one side of the stage to the other side just to push a pedal and run back :D

Man, I'm watching the Racer X videos again, and it seems that Jeff is having way more fun than the other guys. Looks like they aren't that into it anymore as much as Jeff... :(

Yeah I feel sorry for Jeff, it seems like he's having a great time and really seems to want Racer X back. Like I said in the videos thread... that quote after fire of rock kills me!

John and Scott were connected, rocking together, communicating... Jeff was connected with everybody running around rocking out with everyone.. Paul was alone in his corner of the stage.. in the words of John after the show... "I haven't seen Paul all day."

Well, think about it.

What would you do if your amazing band hadn't been together for eight years...

It'd feel a little detached. They didn't even have much time to get the feeling together again :(

Jeff has definitely got the X spirit into him. I wish that the reason why the other band members don't seem to be that way is because they don't show their emotions as easily.

We have been listening to Paul playing those songs for years, they are second priority for the songs that havnt been played in 8th years or more! :)
