Hedman, look under your nick...

There says:

"Promises To Use Search Button", right?

Now search for the phrase "Favourite Racer X Solo" and see how many querries you get! :)

Apart from this, I like the Superheroes solo, and Tech Difficulties of course!

hum....all of them are insane, I won't chose a favorite...

but talking about a primary SHOCK when you listen to them...I would say Frenzy...

I just picture people in the 80's, buying an album of a band called Racer X ( "WITH PAUL GILBERT" ), and the very first song is Frenzy....

I would just have a heart attack :o

It was a 1980s "Fuck it I quit" moment.

Haha...

I was a fan of later RX (Superheroes+Techincal Difficulties) before I was of earlier RX...

My "Fuck it I quit" moment came when I bought Extreme Volume 1. Hollllllllllllyyyyyyy shit... The synchronised solo on the opening track Loud and clear...

Love both old and new RX btw.. the older more shreddy stuff, and the newer more song based stuff.. all cool!

LOL....Dead on.

I sat in Paul's kitchen over coffee and I told him...."the first time I saw you live with Racer X at the Omni, I quit guitar."

Paul replied: "OH NO!"

I said "no, don't worry about it. I decided to apply myself at school and it's worked out just fine."

Just the opposite happened to me. John Alderete played bass so well that he made me want to learn, and I remember sitting around for hours trying to perfect that little two-handed tapping lick that he does in Motorman... and annoying everyone in the house by playing it incessantly.

Three of my favorite Racer X solos come from the Technical Difficulties album. Fire of Rock, Snakebite, and Give it to Me are great solos. One of my all-time favorites is the solo in Endless.

 So sad...
Yet so funny!
Ken went straight to the source and spoke the thoughts of so many aspiring guitar players.

First time listened to Frenzy...never tought I could ever play that...

than I saw that video from that 8 year-old kid playing it...

then was like... "If he can, I CAN!"

took me a few months to learn the whole thing, but it still not perfeCT...

i like Bruce's solo in 'moonage daydream', the middle solo before pauls.

Bruce's version of this solo on my VERY fuzzy copy of the 'OMNI' gig, or 'shark show' SCARES me! he was SO fucking good!

Here's my favorite solos:

Sunlit Nights (studio, live)-perfection
Gone too far (live)-awesome trades/rhythms
Scit Scat Whah (live)-Bruce plays a perfect sweep
Bruce and Paul's unaccompanied solos on EVL1

I could go on and on, but these are the ones I listen to and rewind over and over again for long periods of time. Sometimes I look at the clock and go Damn!
