AHAHAHAHA. Man! Well since I can't really stand listening to Mr. Big I don't listen to them very often at all. Well today I stumbled upon "My Kinda Woman" and I completely forgot about this. The last time I listened to this song was probably, at least 2 years ago, in those 2 years Mad At The World has become one of my very favorite Racer X songs.

What a joke! I just can't help but laugh throughout the song. Eric Martin's vocals are such bullshit! Jesus christ. This is the perfect comparison point between Racer X and Mr. Big, or Jeff vs. Eric Martin for that matter... what they can do with a song. Eric sings just like he sings over every other Mr. Big song and wrote some simple meaningless lyrics. While Jeff really pours his heart into it and makes it sound great. His voice and mood really suits the music perfectly. In MKW Eric's vocals seem to be at war with the music.. they really clash and it just doesn't sound right.

and just from a musical standpoint Mad At The World is just so much better.. the solo section in Mad At The World is so much better. Again.. in Mr. Big's version the solo section just doesn't match the song and doesn't seem to flow right.

I guess I could go on but you all probably know what I'm talking about. Anyway for all the newer members who haven't voted/posted in this thread or may not have even noticed this. Check it out, it's the funniest thing.

Completely agree with Eric. While the Mr. Big sounds like any other song from theirs thank in no small part to Eric Martin's vocals, in Mad at the World Jeff's vocals completely suits the song and isn't at odds with the instrumental parts like Eric said. Actually, it complements the song. It comes as no surprise that this song started as a Racer X song.

I prefer "My Kinda Woman". I really like everything about Eric's vocals. Jeff is amazing as well, but I prefer Eric.

Mad At The World. Prefer the solo. And definitely the mood of the song has nothing to do with the lyrics in "My Kind Of Woman".

Mad At The World, better tone better solo , better vocals. Even though Eric has an Amazing voice, Jeff just has a mile better ;)

I prefer Mad at the Woman.
or My Kind of World.

Honestly I like both for their own reasons I think they're both great songs sonically and lyrically, I really enjoy the solo at the start of Mad at the World but I also enjoy the story in the lyrics of My Kinda Woman.
